Hey,

I wanted to know what if would take to get a Z in to the 11 or 12 sec range. Could that be done with a SCkit or just a TT? I'm thinking about trading in my srt for a Z next year. Thanks.

I just put a turbonetics single turbo kit in my Z. I am running Mid 12s. The kit is direct bolt on and looks great. I will be posting pix soon. The stock block on the Z handles about 425 to the wheels so that is about 11.8-12.2 for a pro driver. If you want to go lower than that you would have to rebuild the block and spend a &#$@ load of money. I am running 450 at the crank so about 390 to the wheels.

Cool. Im really excited about the Z now cause I found out that insurance for the Z is cheaper then my srt's, and they look so sick. The stock block can take more then I thought. I was afraid I would have to get forged everything to go over 400. I would like to run 11's but 12's is fine for me. 11 or 12 was the goal for my srt. What turbo is in that kit and how fast is the spool up? Does anyone have the vortech or stillen SC? I would like to hear about those also. Thanx.

It is perfect. Off the line the car feels almost stock which is good cause you need to get tracktion but as soon as you get on it the turbo is there waiting for you. I was going 50mph and the turbo hit and broke loose the tires loose. It almost feel like you hit 150shot of nos when it kicks in. The tunning is incredible. Just when you feel like you need more it happens. The sc will give you power from the get go which is good but you also will have problem getting off the line. The other turbo set ups are pretty much the same as the super charger. With the twins you will get quick spool but you need tracktion. The other thing about the twins is that it is hard to fit them in the car. You need to remove and relocate a ton of things to get both turbos in there and sometimes I have heard of rattle the fenders with the turbos cause it is so tight. Dont get me wrong though they all are going to make the car extremly quick.

Thats sounds like what I'm looking for. I spoke to a sellsmen today at a nissan dealer, and he said one of his customers has the single turbo kit and has run in the 11's twice on the stock bottom end.

I think the turbonetics kit is awesome. I've read good things, if I had a 350 I'd get one. keep us updated with what you plan on doing. I've seen a N/A Z33 get into low 13's and I even believe high 12's so with this kit you should be able to get a good 1/4 time with a few extra supporting mods.

I probably won't be able to get my Z until later this year. But until then I'll read up and research everything I can. Mod list Im considering so far are: boost controller, apexi safc, exhaust system (but not sure which one), cat deletes, and various supension parts.

i dont think the stillen will get you out of the low 12's your best bet is the vortech s/c at 9 or 11psi (11psi would require rebuilt block 9psi needs a good fuel system) or any of the turbo kits with the proper sized turbos and boost. Good drag radials or slicks will obviously make it easier and a shortened rear end ratio will do wonders, but they tend to harshen the cars streetability.

oh and the insurance on the Z is cheaper because it is owned by older and stereotypically more responsible people...not too accuse you of anything but most SRT-4 owners tend to be a little street race happy and end up doing something stupid

Sad but true . Most srt4 owners are of the younger crowd, myself included. Crash and theft rate is higher for the srt4 thus making the insurance higher.

I looked into an SRT-4...best bang for the buck. I just couldn't get over the fact that it was a neon. Went with a mitsu lancer instead (wife's car).

Hey, love the Sephiroth pic!

Thanks. I think the pic with that stance fits well with my name, and I think he's cool. I love my srt, but I did question why I bought a neon on steroids for a month or so. SO many people think its just your everyday run of the mill neon, until they lose, then its an srt4. I wanted an evo but couldn't afford the extra 10 grand . I love nissans, 350z ecspecially, and want one, but I have to research it first. Ecspecially pricing. Getting into the 11's or close to that with my srt is pretty cheap.

Roxdub,I was looking at pics of the turbonetics kit, and it looks like you can't use a true dual exhaust with it. Is this true?
