Hi, Do you guys think the 21mm Hicas swaybar for 105+shipping is a good deal? It is brand new. Or do you guys think an aftermarket like suspension techniques(150) or addco(150) would be better? Thanks for the help,Ben

No offense nismodave, the OEM bar is sweet as anything, and 105 plus shipping is good, that's how much I payed for mine. My friend has the S/T and they are like 18mm and it really shows. You will not regret the HICAS rear sway at all, just make sure you don't oversteer it too much....lol.... let me know if you have any questions.

Damn. I got mine for $45 + shipping. I have seen em go for that much, but to me $105 is steep. But since they are hardish to come by, it is up to you.

I would rather Have the HICAS bar. It's a 21mm bar which is as big if not bigger than most aftermarket bars.

Nismodave, you are comparing your stock bars to aftermarket, of course there will be a huge difference. The Hicas bar is huge compared to base models bars. i think that price is a little steep though, but if it's new I would consider it. They are in high demand and very difficult to find. I got lucky though, my car came with one. =P

As stated, the hicas bar is big compared to the normal one and the ST ones (I run ST's on my Z32 and they're amazing) but since its the biggest and for 105 its not terrible, go for it.

try this link, Brand New straight from the dealership for $105, and they're a sponser. I don't see a part number though. Going to do more research.

Keep in mind that the stock bars are hollow while aftermarket bars tend to be solid. So even though an aftermarket sway bar may be 18mm vs 21mm, it will be much stronger.

BTW I have a stock s14 rear sway bar that would be free to the first person to come get it from my garage

hey guys, thanks for the info. the oem bar new for 105 is from pinnaclenissan. part number is (56230-54f00)and took some time to find. So is the stock bar really hollow? I wonder if the addco and st are solid.Ben

don't worry if it's hollow or not. Studies have shown as little as a 5% difference in rigidity betwn hollow and solid.

That is a total load about stock bars, mine were so solid I could bludgen Vkoslak to death with it, the S/T sway bar for the honda accord that I dealt with was hollow in the middle and not on the ends, but my factory Silvia K's/HICAS bar is as solid as they come, I hate it when people talk about what they don't know.
