Yup so I've got $1000 just chillin' in my bank account right now waiting to be spent. I've tried to narrow it down to a few choices, but you guys are free to add whatever you like.what should I spend the money on?

Savings account. Not towards an SR. Maybe something that will appreciate in value....like a house.

When you have enough equity in your house, you will make two phone calls. One to the bank, one to MotoRex. Then, all will be well. That's the time to spend, splurge, and go silly. When you've got the big pieces of the puzzle already in place.

I think you're aiming too low and not planning for the long term.

SmithSR, Hahahahaha. That's funny man. Sounds like me. Screw all the fancy stuff. Get the car, drive it, buy a house (work two jobs to pay for stuff for car). That is the plan I will be implimenting here hopefully in about four months.

Fiznat, I say if you got and want to spend it, suspension all the way.

Ugh this is not what an anxious college student wants to hear. Nevertheless I know it's good advice: but do you really think that people my age (going into my senior year in college) should just NOT spend on their car at all? I'm not even THINKING about saving for a house right now.

House.

So in ten years....look me up and we'll see how much equity you have in the house, as opposed to how much your JDM-engine, non-smog legal car will be worth. I've got a five-spot says you don't have the car in ten years anyways...and if you mod it, you won't see those invested dollars in your final sale price. Just the way it goes, I guess. Good luck, I hope you are able to think ahead.

New pistons (10.5:1) 50 over,3way Valve job, mill the head smooth again. Should have some left over for sway bars and all the new octane booster you will be needing.

Do you have a second car, I know this year my 240 won't go good in the winter. I would say invest. Or you can keep your eyes out for cheap parts and pick them up. Nick

either save the money... or do some basic maintence on the car so that it will last in the long run. change all fluids, including transmission diff, replace old seals hoses. brakes bushings and everything that has worn out on a car so old and with over 100K on it !

Fix the car up make it last but do the stuff you need to live comfortably in life. Thats what i am doing. I have had my car 6 months now and slowly but surely things are getting done. Just form some kind of budget. 1000 dollars is nothing! But if you dont believe me go ahead and waste it all. all i need is a phone and a catalog and 1000 bucks goes in about 15 minutes.

SLOWLY BUT SURELY

if you like the 240sx you will have no problems modifing it over the years.

if the car is mechanically sound, invest the money in seat time seat time seat time. By an RCI 4 point harness ($50), some falken azenis and autocross your *** off. Nothing you put on your car will make you faster than your own driving skills.
