well they *are* talking about the standard run-of-the-mill Skyline that is still in production. but 8 spds? wtf? that has to be a typo. How can a 8spd manual transmission be useful in a crowded country like Japan? Where you can loop around a highway in one night?

this story is like the rare legacy b4 blitzen model, that came in a special red Subaru made, they put it up on sale for a short period of time and it sold like hotcakes. mmm...B4

Could it be a typo? Leave it to Autoweek to be so very critical of legroom or headroom in a sport compact, and complain the Viper hasn't enough luggage space, but completely miss the mark here.

you can find more info on the special edition skyline on supercars.net and i posted about it before, its called the R34 GT-R Nur (referencing to the race track) and it supposedly has a derivative of the N1 engine, which came from racing skylines, same power though, cause its computer controlled, uncork it, u get 450hp, my .02

Yeah its the R34 GT-R Nür-spec, Nür as in the imfamous Nürburgring in Germany (not nurburging as is says in supercars.net, although im sure its just a typo). As far as i know they stopped producing R34 GT-R's in 2002 (including the Nür-Spec) and that article is incredibly late. We have the next generation skyline here too, its call the G35 sedan, availible with the prized AWD system this december :)

Edit: i wouldnt be too sure of the 450hp claim, as far as anybody knows its still a stock GT-R motor (internals, turbos) with some ECU tuning. I could be wrong but i have grown very skeptical :)
