ok so ive done the basics im at about 150hp off of just those things. Anyways let me get to the point ive got some money to spend and ive got the hook up on parts. I have a 170 thousand miles on my car but its till running stong. i need some help on performance upgrades that do very very well on 240's im thinking unorthidox crank pulley, hot shot headers, port N polish, jim wolf cam shaft and when i replace all my seals and gaskets from the head up im thinking about a 50 shot any pro's and con's on my idea other than me having to refill my Nos Bottle every now and then?

The first thing that you need to do if you are going to keep the engine in the car is get air in and out as smooth as possible. intake and exhaust will help if you do not have this yet. Also don't forget with hp you need to stop also. I have seen alot of people that get a bunch of horsepower but can't stop or control their car because of subpar brakes and suspension.

You putting those two statements in the same post is just funny. "the basics" don't net 150hp.

Anyway, I agree, a rebuild is in order.

With $1000 and only intake, exhaust (as my understanding), i would definately look at camshaft and headers. Some suspension work would be nice and make your car handle a LOT better. You could do lowering springs and keep your stock shocks for now. You would also be surprised how cool a short throw shifter is. As for power alone, Venom Injectors flow 10% more fuel and dont require an ECU reprogram to work. An MSD or similar ignition might help out some with more spark. IMO im against NOS, its just not right to me. Power in a bottle? I'll never get it. But again, its my own opinion. Peace.

Hey you said you had a hook up on prices and wanted to know how much of a discount you get - JW - Rebuild it then start doin all you bolt on's - it will definatly be worth it in the long run - it would be a shame to see you drop that money into it then have you blow a gasket or something - hope the insight helped

If your looking for big gains and going the turbo route, I would save up that $1000 till you get enough to do a full rebuild with new gaskets, new timing kit, and forged pistons rods. Then save up another $4k and go turbo.

If your just looking for quick small gains, I would just go with an intake, pulley, electric fans, and exhaust. But be warned that like everyone else, those small gains will only keep you satisfied for a while. :)

rebuild or what i would do is swap to ka24de. you can have a newer motor and more power with the money you have right now.

uh dont do tha swap to a ka24de, for a couple of reasons, 1) u would have to swap in a 91-94 computer and wiring 2) it weighs more 3) yea its true that u can do more with tha duel cams but there is alot that u can do with a ka24e. i would stick with tha ka24e and do a rebuild

Keep the ka24e Cause it's great, and get a rebuild and work it up from there.

sure wish they made a cam for my SOHC 4g63. Also why not look into a head swap? Just thinking out loud, but not too knowledgeable.

KEEP THE KA24E! Check out http://www.realnissan.com HTTP://home.att.net/~MabuhayCarlos , real nissans turbo upgrade is much cheaper than a DE, less moving parts, easier to work on, if you go NA theres more room for a real good port and polish, its already in there why would you want to spend money on a DE and the annoyance of a swap. The E is just as good if not better. Let us know how your project goes!
