I've requested a quote from a shop and they said it would cost $1000 to perform this service it would include Tensioners, Water Pump, Bypass Hoses, Cam & Crank Seals and Drive Belts. Is this an appropriate price to pay?

Shop around in your area and see what other shops will do it for. I would recommend buying the kit yourself from CZP and providing the parts to them, so you aren't getting cheapo parts

Yup, a normal labor rate least for the area I'm in is $84 a hour. So if that gives you a idea....

That is a very very good deal for a 120k service, timing belt/water pump, and all the seals. Our dealership charges quite a bit more than that.

How well do you know this shop?

1K is very reasonable for this maintenance

Just make sure they have done it before and have experience.

Have them bypass the plenum coolant lines while they are in there, you will significantly improve the reliability.

You shouldn't have to touch it for another 8 years at least

The plenum bypass is not something that can be easily added when doing the 120k service. They don't even pull the plenum, and doing so is almost completely separate labor.

Very true, additionally the parts list that the original poster referenced is a 60K maintenance, not a 120K. The 120K requires both idler pulleys and studs to be replaced and increases the cost by approximately $200.

At most shops $1,000 for parts and labor would be good to average for a 60K and exceptional for a 120K if they are indeed replacing the idler pulleys and studs. The studs are a mandatory replacement as part of a 120K.

I have to be honest with you... I'm pretty much a shop dullard, and I was able to work my way through almost all of the 120k service myself some money. Well...the initial costs for some basic shop stuff is high, such as a jack and stands and miscellaneous pullers and bits.

Right now I'm stuck trying to get my aftermarket UD pulley back on. I probably wouldn't recommend the $95 edge racing pulley =).

I'm still waiting to hear back from CZP why the Edge Racing UD Pulley doesn't fit the key on the crankshaft.
