Whats the difference between a 100 shot of nitrous vs a 100hp shot, if any?

if you have a hundred shot does it mean 100hp gain or does the nozzle sizes matter?

100 shot is equal to 100hp. size of the nozzle does matter and determans the amount sprayed... id stick with 50 shot if your engine is in good shape. 50shot should spool up your turbo. if your using it to contradict turbo lag.

Your stock engine (if its' a ka24de) can spray 75 shots of nos for 15 seconds , anything over and it's risky.

LOL, well thanks for that tidbit of info 240sxJay....

the shot definetly doesnt = the amount of power gained; however its usually pretty close. So many factors determine how much power you make.

Example: my first Nitrous settup was on a B18c motor in my Civic. I have a 75shot direct port. I put down 66whp more while spraying. I later did some head work to include cams (no other changes) and layed down an extra 82whp while spraying on the same dyno.

I woudl be willing to bet a SR would take nitrous ok, however if you are thinking of using it with a stock turbo (t25 or even t28) you are nutts.

i dont plan on running nitrous unless i upgrade to a turbo that needs it to spool or to counter turbo lag.

im just asking to clarify the difference for me.

Why not spray a t25 or t28?

One, if you're just using the nitrous to spool your turbo you're going to be at full spool by 4000 rpm without it. Its dangerous to even be running the nitrous below 3000 rpm. I believe its because all that extra fuel with low velocity of the air stream means condensation is more likely and you end up running super lean, but I may have that reversed. Point is you get almost no useful window of time to use the nitrous.

Two, if you're running nitrous all through the powerband you end up overspooling the little T25, pushing it out of its efficiency range and killing it that much quicker.

^ exactly right....

NOt only can u run lean that way, but you will get "pooling" of fuel in the manny if you are running way down low. This can cause a lean mixture at first, backfire (teh real way... threw the intake) and /or that fuel will be introduced later when the rpm's go back up and you can get a sudden rich mixture.

The t25/28 will most likely spike like hell if you are usinga shot like that (or any shot for that matter) and prolly run out of life a lot quicker.

check out the info in this thread, i was the last person to post but all the info in there is good. http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....74383
