Some dealers might try to "sell" you service by doing that. But you don't have to take it and it is good to know what is going on with your vehicle. Ever notice that the vehicles that are extremely well maintained are always in much better shape than those that aren't? But, like I said, you don't need to listen to what they say if you choose not to believe it or if you feel like your car doesn't require it.
