when im raceing or just punching my car (on street or on the freeway) my car can max out on 4th gear. my gauge says 110 but then it can max out on 4th. whats wrong? is my car too FAST!? lol! my car is 100% stock

I still don't understand the question here, but we need some clear communication.

110 in an old 240 is perfectly normal, it means it's probably not been maintained all that well.

You'll top out in 4th because there's simply not enough hp to overcome drag in 5th gear.

This is the case with many cars, as 5th is either less than 1:1 (overdrive) or it's too tall a ratio to overcome drag.

p.s. Kid = 17. It applies. Get over it. Quit speeding unless you can afford the consequences.

I could max out at 118 in my 240sx in 4th (speed limiter)I'm not supposed to condone speeding on public roads, but we've all done stupid things.

I stopped when I was cruising at 110 in a 55 (I-465) with a Sheriff's deputy following me. Dropped to 80, figured it was over, and he passed me. . I almost tore my steering wheel off.

Yeah, I have bounced off the speed limiter a couple of times. I was suprised how well the car holds it stability. My moms old Cavalier would shudder to all hell at like 130 km/h. It is a horribly stupid thing to do, even on completely deserted roads though. Get pulled over, and you are ****ed. Have to do an evasive move, and you are ****ed. Have to slam on the brakes, and you are ****ed. Doesn't matter if you can afford to pay the ticket, being a young driver (17) you will be ****ing yourself over for years to come by paying insurance out your wazoo. Now kids, don't speed, and don't do drugs. (I am 22 and a half, so I practically know everything there is to know about everything, and I am wise and learned)

Never said it wa son the street, he assumed it was. Don't go flaming until you know the facts. speed limiter is at 117mph. On I-95 if you don't go 95 you get run over.

sorry to say, it originally said "or just punching my car(on the street or freeway)" which leads many to figure that he was indeed exhibiting this type of behavior on the street...which takes us back to:

1. it's illegal2. on the street if you do it and kill yourself, that's on you. injure/kill someone else well now you've invovled someone else in your stupidity. We all know there's a time and place for everything and quite frankly I enjoy being able to see my friends and family alive and not have to worry about a$$hats being a$$hats that could potentially risk removing one of those friends or family from my vision. I'm sure the other folks that have posted flaming the guy see the point in that kind of an argument, thus the flaming.

that said, it's time for what we all expected.
