Yes if it is an Infiniti warrranty, maybe not if it is a 3rd party he is reselling.

Read the buting article in the Infiniti Articles Forum. One always starts with the Infiniti dealer performed service history. Read on.

Try to get some service records.

Just be on the lookout for anything that should've been done but wasn't.

Make sure to get the vehicle service history from them. By 110k shocks/struts should have been replaced at LEAST once, spark plugs should have been done by now, and suspension bushings / rubber. Otherwise, it's just regular maintenance stuff, oil changes, trans fluid, brake fluid, power steer. fluid, coolant, diff fluid.

As Falk mentioned, the above items should have been changed as part of regular maint by now. If not, make sure they take care of those items without passing those additional charges on to you, or they better be offering the car at a steal. Price the shocks/springs before you buy if they need replacing.

Dealer Maint History is valuable.

With the Y33 i would be hesitant to pay an extra 1000 or so for a warranty... Take that money and use it toward mainteance later...

I would base a lot of that decison in particular on the condition of the hydraulic fluids (PS, ATF, brakes) and the replacement history of each.

A new transmission for $1K is pretty inexpensive.

Houston summer rush hour traffic can be pretty brutal on ATF.

Examine the transmission for leaks: turbine sensor failures on these are not uncommon; $1,200 repair at dealer. I bought an after market warranty at 57k for $1200 and it has covered $1,900 in repairs, including front suspension overhaul. However, most after market warranties that good won't cover high mileage vehicles, so an infiniti warranty for $1000 would be well worth it in my opinion.

Don't confuse a dealer [resellers] warranty with a manufacturers warranty.
