Im just mad about so many people thinking that

"OMG your car has WHAT? and hundred what miles"me-"a hundred and 70 thouseand""OMG thats a ton and your car is still running?"me-"yeah its running great"

so many people dont understand that many cars if taken care of can go past 200,000 miles easily. Now if we are talking about a 1970's Ford or chevy yeah i can see that 100,000 mile mark is kinda scary but if we are talking about a honda, toyota, or nissan these cars were made to be reliable. Its just annoying the ignorance of people.

Sorry about my rant i just wanted to get it off my chest

I remember my Ford Explorer's odometer only had five digits. I did, however, sell it at 169k.

i stand corrected with that. because i thought about this too and a friend on mine had his ford explorer up to like 216,000 miles

And i also had a 1988 audi 90 quattro with about 250,000 miles. The eninge was still strong and would still be going execpt we messed up the transmission with putting newer tires on the front and wore out the differentials.

but its just my friends and paretns we are like omg the car has over 100,000 miles why would you drive that. well im not a rich spoiled brat who gets there parents to buy there 2000+ car and i work for the things i have.

I know a guy who used to have a Toyota Celica and it had 350,000 miles on it before he ever changed the clutch.

And my '02 has 69,000 miles on it. And heck, I haven't even driven it in the last 2 months because I was in England. At that rate, I'll have over 100,000 miles on it before the loan is paid off.

Honda North America "bought" my bosses brother-in-laws 97 Accord after he rolled 1 million miles (about 2 years ago). They wanted to do some tear down analysis. They offered to give him a brand new comparably equipped Accord for free, he took it as a discount on an Acura. He's somewhere north of 200k already.

Obviously, he drives for a living.

My friend had an 80s Ford Tempo with 400k on it. It only had a brake problem when they sold it. My car has 200k on it and I just need a new rear main seal(sux).

My Max is at 180k and going strong. A transmission replacement, that's it. A/C is still good. Cruise died years ago, but who needs it?

Mint paint, great interior. Great gas milage.

100k is not much on a Nissan. On some cars (korean, Ford...) its a LOT. Just remember...you get what you pay for...

When I was a Service Advisor I'd always have customers asking me if I thought their cars would run much longer. Most of them had about 90k on their cars, some occasionally had 150k or so. But....I was an Advisor for a Honda/Acura shop. They were always surprised and probably didn't believe me when I told them to just continue doing preventive maintenance and your car can it 300k if you plan on keeping it that long.

Was there ever anything majorly wrong with the Accord?

And yet, you flare ignorance too.

Some people aren't spoiled brats, they're just lucky. We're respectful and thankful for our gifts. Just because we recieved a 2000+ car right off the bat doesn't make us brats. Furthermore, I fully intend to keep this car until she dies completely, which, knowing the SR20 and my maintenance habits, should be QUITE awhile from the 46.5k mark I sit at now.

Anyways, for future reference, there are fortunate souls who know how fortunate they are, just few and far between.

1993 Ford Bronco = 185,000 miles now. Just drove it out to Palm Springs to pick up my new-to-me convertible Z31.

My lowest mileage car is 155,000 on my 50th Anniversary Edition Z31.

btw: The Bronco has some minor things wrong with it, but it's still very reliable.http://www.az-zbum.com/Bronco/

Friend of mine's dad has a 1979 Toyota Corolla Stationwagon with over 600K miles. They live in Florida and has driven the car to California many times. Original block and all. His dad plans to sell it back to Toyota when the odometer turns back to 000000.

My S14 has 164K and is running strong.
