Hey.. So i feel kind of stupid asking this because of all the other "what psi can i run" questions posted out there, but none of them said exactly what i wanted to know. I have a sr with a gt28, full three inch exhaust, and a large fmic. I drove it for about 2000 miles and decided i wanted a bit more pep, so i went up to 10 psi . It felt great for a while but now it hesitates once in a while like it is misfiring or something. I just want to make sure this hesitation wasn't a result of motor damage due to increasing psi with out any kind of fuel management. Also, If this doesn't sound motor related could the misfiring be caused buy a plug gap that is to small? Or maybe an alternator with a ****ty voltage regulator (it has been acting pretty gay lately)? Anyway, any advice will be appreciated because I am pretty new at dealing with sr20's, or any turbo motor for that matter.

Depends; what size injectors you are running ? You can put a rising fuel pressure regulator on there. As the boost goes up it increases your fuel pressure . Also check your tuneup you might have burnt a plug from running to lean the plugs will tell you if they are a whiteish color than your lean could have a burnt electrode. Let me know what you find...

this could be a number of things. check spark plugs first. then check fuel pressure. A stock SR can usually take up to 1 bar (15PSI) fairly easily. I had the GT28 turbine that i boosted 1.1 bar with which is about 16 r so PSI. U can easily take it to about 14 or 15 PSI safely. I have seen the 28 turbine boost 1.2 bars which is about 17.5 PSI so they will take it but it is sounding like your lag is coming from fuel or spark. in answer to if you need a piggy back at 10 PSI the answer is no. you can if you want to be safe but usually just upgrade your fuel pump and you should be good. hope this helps, good luck

Ok.. Thanks guys, I will check out the plugs and let you know what I find. One detail i left out was that i am running a ka-e maf. I read somewhere that these mafs could cause a hesitation which could be fixed buy running another ground directly to the body... Does this sound right to anyone?
