Why do people think that 10 pounds is pushing a ka motor? how retarded is that? Im sure some people know dennis from unstable-hybrids.com?

lets see....360 to the wheels at 15 pounds and stock internals.how'd he do it?

A: tuning.

stock cams, stock driveshaft, stock motor. but really impressive numbers, and he hit bosst at 3000 i think.

" but it wont last long at all at the rate of boost"{projex smacks little johnny for speaking when he wasnt spoken to} to:slap

dennis ran his for 2 years or something like that just that way.guess what- its still going.

get over this fear of boling you motor-you mean to tell me that you can afford a 4000 dollar bolt on turbo kit, but not a 450 dollar bone yard motor to get you running again?

Uh, sure... but one question; who the hell are you talkin' to? I don't hear too many people whinning about it. I run ten pounds on a stock bottom end, and have been for a while. I have not seen anyone posting new threads saying that you should not run ten pounds on stock guts. John

Maybe it's more of a fact that they don't want anymore power and spending the extra money on injectors etc. isn't worth it. Or they don't have all the knowledge neccessary to do the fine tuning.

dont post information thats gonna make people think they can just slap a turbo on and boost up...you mentioned the tuning, is it a stand alone. 10 lbs of boost seems to be a limit to most peoples budget before you have to start moving into diferent methods of tuning, such as larger than 370 injectors(not cheap, cant just get them from an sr guy), standalone, big turbos, etc..

I wouldnt post anything to make anyone think anything. what this post was for was to ask why people think that 10 pounds is too much for a stock bottom end. I dont remember the posts and i really dont like the search engine., but i have seen the posts. budgjet isnt in the post I made. what i did see alot of is people buying expensive turbo kits, but saying that 10 pounds is all your motor would take. If you can afford a bolt on kit, then provisions to get your motor where you want it need to be taken(i.e.- budjet for an ecu and bigger injectors.) Dont get me worng, i think 10 pounds in a 240 feels great, but 15 pounds feels even better. and its totally attainable.

I have a ka24e from a pickup. Could i run 15psi with just proper tuning and injectors?

I wouldn't do that on the SOHC, and I think the trucks might have higher compression, 9.5:1, but I could be wrong. If I'm right, then I definitely wouldn't boost that high.
