google has its own email service like yahoo and hotmail. The big thing is that you get 1 GB of storage. There are also some free software out there that would allow you to use your GMAIL account like an online storage drive. You sould link pictures and stuff to it. The only catch is that you had to be invited to join when they started. Don't know if that is still the case.
