rb25 /s13 / mckenny wire job

removed coils and CAS, spun cas and watched each one spark, except #1.

replaced #1 coil pack with #2 coil pack (which worked for sure) [no spark]

pluged #1 plug into #2 and vice versa, #1 sparked and #2 did not.

any ideas?

Sounds like a wire not connected or not making a conection. Got a mutimeter?

check for the basics. Check the wiring loom at #1 for 12vdc ground and ecu pulse signal. while cranking. That will tell you if it's the igniter or ecu

so the if the ignitor were bad, it would cause the cyl. to not spark?

This shouldnt be that hard of an issue to track down.

Really there arent that many components in the electrical system that deal with firing the coil..........

You've got the CAS, Igniter, ECU, Coil Pack, IGN Relay, Spark Plug, and the wiring itself that all have to do with the spark.

Since you say that you've replaced the #1 coil pack with a known good one and you still arent getting spark, that means you're not getting a signal to the coil pack. Now you need to work backwards from the coil pack to find where you're loosing the signal. My guess it would be on a bad ignitor, but like I said you're going to have to work backwards to find the real cause.
