I saw this post on the KA-T forums and this guy was only running 1 vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator. He took off all the emissions stuff too. Is it safe to do this? Does the engine still run right?

those are also called secondary butterflies. they are in the intake runners close to the ports, and are vacuum controlled. some people remove em, and i see it as a restriction in the intake. only s13's had them.

I'll hook you up we have a write up for it on nico just search it.

I took mine out as I'm one of the a$$ that thinks sohc ka like to rev over 5k. they are kinda like a vtec please excuse my lack of a better word, they help control "swirl" to create greater low end POWA,but say f off to top end hp. My personal biew is that the ka makes plenty of ft*lbs down low with a nice flat power band without them so why not gain a bit up top. A nice way to compliment that is header/exhaust. as ka is restrictive more so on the ext side....... its kinda a debate atm, if you plan to eprom tune you may consider leaving them and tune around them,IIRC someone on that forum was doing this, dont remember anything else tho...

btw I was messing with you about the whole tree killing thing
