ok i just wanted to know if this is normal, i recently swaped a s14 sr20 into my 90 hatch. i have walbro fuel pump 3in turbo back apexi exhaust hks ssqv bov no name front mount and the motor came with upgraded cams i just dont know what kind. but my question is its pushing 1 to 1.5 bar it will hold boost all the way to redline but i dont want to blow my motor due to over boost. so is this normal?

They say not to push the stock turbo past 13psi [just under 1bar]. Its your risk though

1 bar is safe on a properly running motor but any more is pushing it

Sounds like a wastegate issue. where do you have your boost reference tapped into? Any weird bends in the wastegate linkage?

Btw, a boost controller won't fix a faulty wastegate.

+1 A boost controller can only bring the boost up, not down.

you'll probably blow the turbo before the engine if it was overboosting anyway. That is if it doesn't completely lean out due to the extra air.

i run my t25 at about 12psi some days with no tune and no a/f controller

i followed the vac diagram that i found here on nico and no theres no weird bends. but i read a thread earlier about how your supposed to be able to move the wastegate arm by hand and i cant move mine at all. plus i dont think ill run lean any time soon my car is running super rich right now.

is it 1 or 1.5 bar because that is also equal to 14.7 - 22.05 psi (assuming 14.7 psi= 1 bar which im pretty sure does). either way a bit a psi for a stock turbo, not sure about the s14 turbo but the s23 runs safely around 12-13 psi, stock actuator is like 7-8 psi ther so u gotta ask urself what is goin on with ur actuator to be allowing so much boost. probly went to crap and needs to be replaced.

do u have a boost only source going straight to ur actuator with no tees?

don't know about the wastegate, as I've never tried to move mine. How are you measuring your boost levels? You could have a faulty gauge or sensor and it's just reading higher than what you're really boosting.
