We don't charge for membership...

Letter from G35Driver.com Admin:

Hi all,

First off from the Admins and Moderators of G35Driver we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.

Now onto the G35Driver Update. After many late nights and restless hours programming the upgrades are finally going to happen. During the Thanksgiving holiday I will be shutting down the website for a major upgrade starting Wednesday 24th Nov. to latest Wednesday Dec 1st.

Here is a small list of things that are happening

- Forums to VBulletin (Upgrade)- Classified program (Upgrade)- Members Rides section. (Upgrade)- Photo Gallery section (Upgrade/Added)- Content management system for articles (Upgrade/Added)

Regular membership- Classifieds (View)- Photo Gallery (View)- Rides Pages (View)- Articles (Limited Access)- Forums (Limited Features)

Premier membership (Carries the same as Regular +) - Classifieds (Post, Edit View)- Photo gallery (Post, Edit)- Rides Pages (Post, Edit)- Articles (Full Access)- Forums (All features)- Newsletter- Discounts on Parts from various vendors- Raffles- Shirt/Stickers (Possibly)

Sponsors (Carries the same as Premier +)- Classifieds Section( Post, Edit, View their own section )- Banner Included in the banner rotation- Inclusion in Newsletters (Can promote specials in newsletter)

There will be a variety of sponsorship type offerings and will be posted on the site when we launch.

Premier Membership will likely cost between, $12-$36 per year which will help pay to for maintenance, hosting, upgrades, raffles, site content and items to help make your experience with the website an enjoyable and meaningful one.

Feedback is needed and greatly appreciated from members on what things might interest you to make it worth while to become a Premier member so please email me if you have any suggestions.

I will be keeping everyone up to date as new things arise

I've got to tell you, I've spent a lot of time talking to their members OUTSIDE of the forum. I couldn't possible imagine paying to post on that board. It's nothing personal against them, it's just always seemed to be full of guys with too much money. I mean, they have a 'Finer Living' forum labeled as 'You've got the car but do you have the life?' Give me a break. You've got the car but do you have a clue. Anyway, I'll be letting my membership expire in the new year. I'm sure they'll miss all 3 of my posts.

No thanks. We have enough sponsors to keep our arses above water.

And besides, Greg already told us we wouldn't be paying membership fees.

Heh. Our Google Ad revenue alone makes it so you don't have to pay for a membership. The advertisers are awesome too. Trust me, NICO will never charge you for a membership. You guys are what keeps us alive with your presence and participation. You should be rewarded for that, not taxed.

I'm glad this is free. I love lurking around, but I definitely don't take the mods and admins services for granted. They do alot of work and spend money so we can have such a nice place to hang out and its free too. I feel like everyone here are my friends.

It's nice not having to pay indeed, but for as much time as alot of us spend on here, and the information gained, 20 bones a year is nothing.

I've been on the Ferrari Forum for a while now. Its still free after three years, and they dont brag about their lifestyle.

The photos of their garages though make me SO jealous!

I got basicly the same letter when I kept up with S2KI. Same terms. It turned me off of the forums. That and them being the worst forum croud I have ever seen. Examples availible.

Paying for an upgrade to inferior software...Yay for them!!

Naw, as I said in a previous and recent post, there is no good reason to visit any other Nissan site than NICO.
