What type of loan are you getting? Will you have to pay full coverage or just liability?

you do sound pretty ungrateful. Considering you have parents of your own, and your friends dad is kind enough to co sign for you.

Do you even know what co signing entails? It means he's 100% responsible for you, and anything that you could screw up, ultimately ends up on his record.

I know a lot of parents that won't co sign their own kids, let alone their kids friend. Get over it, and play by his rules, he owe's you nothing.

Well because he is taking out a loan for the car he has to have full coverage on the car. Liability won't cover it. I pay 159 a month for my 97, 240, and I pay 2800 a year for insurance. Clean license and all.

Be glad he is co-signing your loan. I wouldn't even co-sign for a friend for a loan that's over a few thousand. That's just ASKING FOR PROBLEMS later on down the road if things aren't smooth.

At least you got a co-singer, ask the dealer if he can hold the car for a few weeeks or a month or so, my cousin did that, till he scrapped up some extra cash, and then went back and got his BMW 325i, so imsure they'll do it for a 240, i mean a BMW is worth a lot. But ask, could work.

I had a credit check done at a local dealer. Im thinking of purchasing a 99 Altima SE for 10K and financed for 48 months. I think its preaty good, got a 8.9 APR. Keep in mind im 18 and had a job for about 4 mos. but i make around 1.4K before taxes a month and i had a stub to back it. I just needed 1 grand for the down payment and i got 500. I dont know though, I still got my heart set on a S14 so maybe ill just wait till something pops out.

Looking at your pic I can see that you also have the same color as me. Well I think it's because we're under 25(well I am). You do get a big break if you have a clean license at 25. Other then that I don't know the car is classified as a sports car but a joke at 155hp. Go figure. I got State Farm.

i just got 2 speeding tickets in the last week for doing 60+ in a 35mph. My dad is freaking out saying that im going to get dropped from the insurance and have to pay for it myself. However, i am eligable for traffic school on 1 of the tickets. Do any of you guys know if the 1 ticket would break the bank? It's the only thing on my record. I make $10.35/hr at a hospital at about 34 hours a week.

what's a good insurance carrier for teenagers??

Well from experiance if you go alone prepare to bend over and spread em nice and wide. The cheapest way for a teenager by far is to be on your parents insurance and it helps if they have a clean record. The way to do things like this is to fight every speeding ticket. Having a lawyer helps. Most of the times they will reduce it to a non moving violation. It depends on the circumfstances, you had an extra 25 mph on the speedo in a relatively slow speed zone, might be tougher then to fight a 70 in a 55. I dont know how it goes where you live but if you accumulate enough points in 8 months you might have your license automatically revoked, for 6-12 months.

I got a ticket for barking the tires shifting into second ("improper takeoff"; the cop said he could write me up for wreckless but didn't because "you seem to have a good attitude"). Wasn't even trying. I went to court and the judge deferred it for 3 months, meaning if I didn't have another violation for that period it'd never have to be paid or go on my record. It helped that it was my first violation. Getting two in one week, I doubt you'd get as lucky as I did. Or maybe you would. This kid caught going 85 in a 55 on a sport bike got out w/ traffic school the day I went to court.

insurance for a teen is NOT cheap anyway you look at it, i mean, drivers ed class and driving school, take off 15% and if you maintain a 3.0 grade average it takes off another 15%, but thats for here in PA, im nto sure if it goes fro other states

cwc2k1 wrote:Oh yea, and for now, I don't think I need a another job. I make $8/hr and then like 6 after taxes and that's good for an 18 yr old kid with only a ghetto educationd degree (aka GED), which I didn't even have when I started a year ago at $7.
when i was 18 i was selling mens clothes at Dillards a local department store, making 8ish hr right out of High school workign 40hrs/wk, all i wanted was a WRX went to get financed guy almost laughed, got my bubble poped... got a job @ Wells Fargo Bank making 10+hr 18-19yrs old went in to get WRX AGAIN they said with 5k down and 500/mo. its mine i said by, ask my bank they put it through i some how found 5k... paid 363/month! for a brand new WRX, sold it just 3 weeks ago made 2k on it now 20yrs old and making 30k+/year @ DragRacing.com selling aftermarket performance parts and all i want is a 240/rb25det some how it will be done and done right......

What im getting at is dont get discouraged the first time out or second or third just keep advancing and make things happen talk to people get a repor with banks, People ect. dont rely on Friends dads or other friends make things happen with companies it will all fall into place. A good rule of thumb is if you make 20k/Yr the max car you can "afford" (little bank rule) is between 12-20k is about all you can get financed for with a Strong credit and Down payment.

Have fun other cars will come along.

Cheers, Jon

it if it has low miles and a clean title in good condition. Keep in mind, this car is at a dealership so his retail is a little higher than from a private seller.

You wanna know what? Your just another highschool punkass ungrateful ****(that probley needs the hell beat outta him) besides that extra point, you result to trash talking over the internet. Obviously your little 'sex' statement obviously shows the lack of sex life you currently have. I see currently you drive a 89 honda? I would hopefully say their are no type "R" badges or maybe a ferrari emblem, but the way you ricers and your attitudes are I seriously must hang my head down low cause I know your are another one. A ungrateful punkass looking to get the latest trend so maybe the 'hot chick' at your school will maybe notice you and you would have a slim chance of getting 'laid'. Listen here homie(h0m0?) dont bring your little ricer **** or your 'sad and discourange' stories of how someone tries and teach you responsibility and you think your invincible and know all, well your not, so do us all a favor and stfu. Iam sure alot of ppl here can agree with me on the fact, I never had a co-signer for my ****, I had to work my *** off, save and buy.

That job for only 4 months may come up to smack you in the face. I am 20, almost 21 (next monday) and I have a FICO score of upper 600's and I couldn't get a 3k loan for 36months for a bike by myself!!!!!! Thats bs if you ask me, especially since my credit is very good. The biggest part was I only have had my job for 7months, and some places want 2 years of work at one job. Good luck though!!!

Yea thats one of the major reasons why i dont want to sign my self down for 48 months. yea the guy told me 6 mos. arent even ****, straight out, when you wanna get financed. He said the co-signer really helps but i want to get this on my own. I probably will get it if nothing good comes out.

Im gonna go apply for a loan at a credit union around here to see if i could get pre-approved for a loan cuz im thinking ill be saving some cash buying one of the street rather than a dealer.
