Ok, so my new motor came in, but 6 exhaust stud was broken and stuck in the head, I was able to use easy-out to extract 5 of them out. however, one of them wouldnt buge and the easyout broke and is stuck in there. So Im wondering if missing one exhaust stud is ok or it will cause a leak. Thanks

seriously, what do you think? Of course you can't leave it like that. It sucks but you have to fix it. At least the engine is not in the car right? Try doing that last stud up against the firewall and that is the one that almost always breaks.

my front and rear studs were broke all last year with no leaks... I broke a spiral extractor off on my rear stud..... Needless to say I spent 2 drill bits trying to get it out.... not happening unless I take it to a shop so they can use a press.

i think my car runs off of hopes and dreams, so a broken stud is the least of your worries.

The easyout is tougher than a drill bit. You need a drill bit that is tougher than the easyout.

Same story here, I broke an easy out off in the stud against the firewall. I drilled it forever with multiple drill bits. No love.

So I've been running with one missing stud for a long time on 19psi and no leaks or nothing.

easy out is made of High speed steed (HSS) you need either a few tIn coated drills or a tungsten carbide tipped, or sintered carbide tipped drill. or tungsten carbide tipped punch and crack it out.If you try to drill it out again , if you have access to metal coolant , use it , if not, dishsoap and water potentially will work.any carbide tip will make mincemeat out of steel, so be careful.

I was having a lot of trouble getting one out, so I coated it with PB Blaster , and as I worked on other things over a few days I kept it coated, ended up coming out with a touch of my finger lol PB blaster is amazing!

yall are probably gonna laugh at this but when i was in college (machining class) my instructor told me that one of the only ways to drill out a broken easy out or drill bit is with a certain concret bit. because of the coating or some crap just time consuming he was a machinest for 40 years so idk thank god mine came out with left handed drill bit
