I raced at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego on Friday night and my best time on my 1991 Q45 182k with cold air intake, dual flowmasters, and 17" chrome motegi rims/yokohama 235/45ZR was...

R/T: .651

60 FT: 2.580

MPH: 72.93

ET: 10.266

60 FT: 2.54......................: 2.581/8: 10.268 @73.5.......... 72.93 @10.266

Still don't understand why the zero to 73 mph time is taking so long in both runs...........these are like 7.7-7.8-7.9 zero to 60 mph accelerations

What I dont understand is why the 60 ft times are so high. with almost 300 ft-lbs it should get off the line a heck of alot faster. I hit 2.1xx's in my manual 240sx.

Power-to-weight ratio. Simple math.

oxs, your numbers are almost identical to mine.

Dennis, I think what hinders both cars is that lag between 2-3K rpms (roughly). If our acceleration were more linear, I think that'd definitely make a difference.

I gave up 2 car lengths between 2-3K, then started making them up after 4K... torque converter conspiring against us.

That 300 isn't available immediately. You also have a manual, that you can clutch dump.. Also your car doesnt weigh in at 4,300 pounds (with driver)

The Q was never fast off the line...

Case and point.. I raced countless E36 M3s.. 240hp version, sold before the newest one.

Anyway, they would absolutely slaughter me off the line... However, if the race was after 70, it couldn't pull one inch on me..

you would never know the Q45 was as fast as an m3, if you just paid attention to it's off the line performance..

Hitman said he raced an LS430 from a roll, and never lost an inch. The LS400 is a mid 14 second car, with higher 90s traps.. greg ran a [email protected], yet he didn't have any problems with the LS..

Things change when you don't have to get two tons off the line, with an engine that was built for high rpm performance

E36 m3s run low 14s@high 90s.. 14.2@99 was a common number

If you took the Qs performance from 70+.. it's basically a low 14 second car, with high 90s traps. I can't tell you how many low 14 second cars couldn't pull on me at freeway speeds..

The same is true for the 540i.

The 540i 6 speed will SLAUGHTER an m3, and a Q45 for that matter, on the freeway.

I've witnessed and raced them many times.. yet I could never convince BMW fanboys the 540 was faster then an m3.. all they did was go off the 1/4..

how could a q be as fast as an m3, when it runs 15..

how could a 540 slaughter an m3, when the 1/4s are the same..

dumb fanboys

Why the 4.083 diff mod doesn't do as much as you would think..........still only 15.4% when 37% [4.85 vs 3.538] is optimum.........what's necessary to turn 5500 rpm at 30 mph [to optimize the zero -30 mph test].......what is necessary to turn about 6,000 rpm at 100 mph in 3rd..........like having 88 more lb/ft at least thru 60 mph......0.4-0.5 second improvement in zero to 60.

Just for fun...here are my stats from about a month ago....totally stock. Weather permitting this time, I will be at the track on Wednesday night June 2nd to do some 1/4 runs....but my car will be far from stock mod wise and I hope my numbers reflect it as well.

1st Run60' = 2.4330' = 6.81/8 = 10.3 @ 71.3mph1000' = 13.31/4 = 15.7 @ 88.0mph

2nd Run60' = 2.4330' = 6.91/8 = 10.3 @ 71.0mph1000' = 13.31/4 = 15.8 @ 88.2mph

Just thought I'd add my little bits... I ran 2 weeks ago and had a 9.96 1/8th, fully stock, well, minus those nasty cats and 2 pre-mufflers ;) Then last week ran with a ractive cone air filter on the car, and it ran 10.2. I'll get the slips and post the et's etc. Also have a vid of the 9.9 run if anyone wants me to post it to my site. It was against a new Dodge Ram SRT-10, so I felt kinda good only losing by .9 secs lol.

6MT G35 Pilot Sports are doing 9.4-9.5 in 1/8 with 2.4sec 60'.

I think 90-93Q with JWT ecu and fresh transmission soft tires [oem like]should should do the 1/8th in 9.85/74 mph at 70F
