So i FINALLY took my car to a track to see how it'd do. My worst time was an 11.2 and my best was a 10.4. So is that good considering im all stock with no emissions and hollowed cat?Heres a in car video of my best run vs my brothers jdm n/a sr20 swapped g20. (his best run was a 10.95)

That run was the ONLY run i had traction on. I was spinning my wheels off the line for 3 seconds on every run and this one spun maybe just for 2 seconds. I have an open diff and planning on getting it welded. So would that aid in less wheel spin and a better overall time? On the 1/4 mile converter it said id run low 16's. Is that right? What are some of everyone elses 1/8 times? Thanks!

Yea a stock DOHC 240 should run high 15's to 16's, the former with a great launch. I have no actual experience with it, just gathering data. Welding the diff will help you get off the line quicker and eliminate some of your wheel spin. What tire are you using?

seems about right because if it was a quarter mile then youd expect 15s or 16s

Cheapo used tires that are balding. A toyo proxes tpt directional on one side and some kind of potenza re something on the other. It looks like they're both cracking so im guessing they might just be getting too hard and not getting traction?

EDIT: A stock ka can actually get into the 15's?

With good tires and a perfect launch and a locking diff, and with a very good driver yes. That's one of those car and driver magazine type numbers where out of 50 launches that was the best time they got so they conclude the car can do that time. However, when you go to the track depending on weather, temperature, track conditions, tire pressure, and so many other conditions your times will vary basically. So while 15.8 might be doable, I would be ecstatic with a 16 second quarter out of a stock S13. Keep in mind the 200hp Civic SI is only a low 15's car. That car is 20 years younger and has a new more powerful engine. You pulled a time that would be within half a second of the best time a stock S13 could hope for on a 20 year old engine. Don't get down on yourself for that. As far as welding the diff, if drag racing is all you plan on doing go for it, welded diffs blow for daily driving, invest in a vlsd if you're gonna use it for both drag and daily until you can afford a real diff.

Yeah drag racing isn't a HUGE deal for me seeing as how id probably drift or track it more than drag race it. Its really just to see how my cars improved performance wise. That paragraph did make me feel better about that time being stock though. Thanks! I guess ill just go with a j30 diff till i can afford a 2 way and supporting mods

Dragtimes.com is a really good site if you want to know some track times for your car and post yours on there while your at it.

I swear im gonna start a Pro-welded rear diff club cause man they get a bad rep. If you daily drive your car get a J30 but seriously you dont really notice your welded diff under normal use. They ONLY time you notice it is when you make super sharp corners at low speeds. It GREATLY increases grip on take off in the 1/4 mile and drifting its a million times easier. If you plan on getting a 2 way thats great spend the money but you can get 9 welded diffs which are the same thing for the same price. My buddy has a 2 way and i have a welded and we notice no difference. He wishes he would have saved 800 bucks and just welded his.
