I was thinking about how hard it would be or even if it is possible to add the components to make a non A/C car an A/C car.

Is it possible?I can't really find that much info on it. I should have got the A/C.

Although it isn't that bad if it is not possible just looking to tinker.

Possible = yes.

Easy and/or cheap = no way in hell.

I did this years ago in a 1990 Mazda pickup. Big pain in the a**. You end up replacing stuff you wouldn't think about: pullies, belts, alternator, all that crap. You also have to take half the car apart to run all the lines and hoses.

And that was a much simpler vehicle than the Versa. I wouldn't even attempt it yourself.

I was expecting all the things you mentioned already, so I wasn't suprised there. I was hoping for answers like the heater box has a provision for A/C, meaning that when they were making the versa parts they could be used with A/C or without. The other thing to mention is the 1.6 and 1.8 engines and mounting of the compressors. Ill give it to you though it does sound like a lot of work but if the junkyard has the parts it could be a sound investment.

No offense, but a 'sound investment' probably would have been to buy the car with A/C stock.

Funny that you mention that - my brother's first car was a 1993 Ford Ranger (B-series clone). He negotiated in his purchase price that they would add A/C, and the thing ran like a top with cold air for at least 150,000 miles until he sold it.
