this was bracket racing, i wasn't quick enough to be in the fast 16 that night, i missed it by .1seconds ouchwe were running on a pro tree, not a typical step down tree. I had to be sure I had my rpms up or i would bog off the line something horrible.matt_2036 wrote:You need to work on your reaction time!
thanks mikebmike818 wrote:Forget what the haters say, ignore them until they fade away. I don't want to see you suckered into this, just ignore them. If I saw the thread sooner I would have gotten your back.
It's all good!
I gotcha Tony. I was never really good with the car in trying to catch lights. I could cut good lights on the bike, but the car was harder to get properly staged and build rpms properly. I ran a footbrake class which didn't allow me to use my stock rev limiter for launch.I'd hold my rpms at or about 6000. I'd pretty much let the clutch up as fast as I could slipping it a little. The tires would intially bite, then as boost kicked in, all 4 would break loose. I was fighting the wheel trying to keep it straight and grabbing 2nd gear all before the 60ft.AWD + VCT + short gearing = crazy initial acceleration. 1st gear only gave me MAYBE 30mphAnthonysflying wrote:My original comment was a compliment. The other driver practically jumped the tree and got spanked anyways.
Hows the AWD on the strip? do you have to slip the clutch like crazy?
silly me I assumed you were talking about a Z!???ldstang50 wrote:evilin the post of What you dislike about the Z, I posted I had drag raced my car/bike and posted times almost exactly what the mags got.
