Ack! I'll be surprised if I don't have glass embedded in my hands. Trying to take the out with nothing by a screwdriver and guitar string SUCKS.
I didn't know the could shatter like that...always thought they had that protective film like the front windshield.

Background info:
Was going to take the 1/4 windows off my junked hatch to add to the collective pool of parts that zach, blake, wei, chris and I have going on (hereby refered to as the members of pwncaeks). Well Blake told me I could cut through the glue stuff with guitar string (used electric guitar string because I have one laying around). That wasn't going fast enough so I took a screwdriver and a hammer to it...tapping ever so lightly. Well, it broke. Was pretty fun too.
Moral:Don't pry your 1/4 windows with a screwdriver folks.
