Well....here are my time slips. I have also included all the older previous time slip posts since even I had trouble doing a search for them all just to keep everything in one place.

Moroso 2/10/06 95Q45T With Headers/Exhaust/Robert MadMax ECU/HomeDepot AirIntake Special With K&N Cone Filter/4.08 Gears & 164,000 miles

........#1...........#3R/T.....-.255...-.136 (yes I was a little rusty on the start and jumped the gun)60'.....2.336....2.396330'....6.378....N/A1/8.....9.564....9.660MPH....77.02....76.811000'..12.278...12.3781/4.....14.565...14.669MPH.... 98.24....98.17

Edit...found #2 Run just for completeness........#2R/T.....-.03360'.....2.496330'....N/A1/8.....9.746MPH....77.141000'..12.4641/4.....14.752MPH.... 98.76

I had another timeslip (run#2) but can't find it right now with a 14.7XX. I had the adrenaline rush jitters again which was cool and I like a lot my first time up, but it went away after my first run so I was able to get somewhat back into the groove of things having not raced in 9 months. Unfortunately...I did not have all the i's dotted and t's crossed as my tranny fluid issue causing slower shifts and tires killed my ET's. First let me say that I could definitely feel the extra strength in Robert's ECU especially around 7,000rpms...the damn car hauls butt and his ECU probably saved the day for what could have been embarassing higher ET's. I did have trouble with the launch and tire sliping. I let air down to 24psi in the rears which helped, but not enough. The cooler weather I have been having trouble hooking up the rear properly with the 4.08 from stoplights. I can feel the back end breaking traction as I somewhat ease into the throttle (if I hamer the throttle there is no hope) and believe it or now when I hit around 3,000 to 5,000rpms I can really start to feel the tires slip and I could feel this on every run. The car was hooking up somewhat decently at the line, but at I pushed harder on the pedal you could feel the tires slip midway down the first 60' mark (probably 15~20mph) which was really bad when I did my 14.7 run...I almost lighted up the whole back end in smoke from hammering it too fast midway down the 60' line. Well...enough of me rambling on....I did meet another fellow NICO person named Bob with a nice Y33 up there for which we traded stories back and forth to make the time pass by more easily betwee runs. He did not run because he recently got the car and it needs a check over so at the end of the night I let him take my car for a spin or two around the block for which I definitely think he enjoyed as he said he really loved how the suspension, steering, stance, and braking was setup not to mention the sound, power, and responsiviness saying that my car was very quick to respond to the touch of the gas pedal.

This was probably my very last 1/4 race in the Q....I am just too busy to drive 90 miles each way and have focused my extra time elsewhere. Being at the track had mixed feelings....as there were a ton of very impressive cars there running mid 13's and some even high 12's all day long without a sweat. Three Mauders running a very surprisingly mid 12's and then another group in mid 13's and finaly 2 stock ones running mid 14's. I guess they had figured out a way to tune those really nice. Also several Ford Lightening running high 12's which was really dam impressive and many nicely modded stangs such as a Cobra that I ran against running 12.6. People were still impressed with the Q and I got several comments from novices like "that is a FWD car" and "that is a V6".

After seeing what I went to test drive this past week (2003 Harely F-50 Crew Cab) running at Moroso last night totally stock at 14.30 that is definitely my next vehicle as it would compliment my 69 vette nicely allowing me to tow if very very fast :-). The Q will officially be up for sale sometime beginning of March...damn...I can't believe that I just really finally typed it all out that I am selling it. At that time I will post all the info & history etc with hopes that it goes to a new home for somebody to enjoy. It was a very fun run my last 2 of 8 years of ownership with all the modifications and learning form you all but I definitely think the time has come for me to seriously move on. Rex, Jamesmost, and the new Y33 guy Bob have driven and seen my Q recently (last 6 months) so they would be able to give you an oustide opinion of it if you would like to contact them I am sure they would be more than happy to discuss.

My 60' times are way off and I don't have a real idea why, but at least after 60' my ET's were right on the money. I now have homemade street slicks and so I let the air pressure out of the rears down to 26-28psi. The car hooked up like glue....no wheel spin at all which was kind of scary putting that much stress on the drivetrain without the wheels spinning at least a little bit to release some of the energy. Anyway...the car actually acted kind of funny hooking up this hard at the line and it seemed as if the engine somehow was adjusting itself due to all the resistance it was getting from the rear tires not spinning. It was like the timing or the something else in the engine was being held back after it got so much resistance. I usually have about 1 solid revolution of the rear wheels off the line, but not tonight.

While I was not happy with my ET's overall (mainly due to 60' times) I did manage to spank a 2003 Stock Mustang GT right from the line 2 times in a row (the dude was so pissed). I was so happy to line up against this guy and see what my car would do from the very start off the line against a Mustang. Our reaction times both times were within 0.05 secs of each other and I beat him by 0.4 & 0.45 secs in the 1/4. I had the guy right from the start as all my ET's were better than him including my 60' time. It was so nice to sit back and look over my shoulder at 60mph as I pulled away from this guy all the way to the finish line. My first race was against a 98 5.0 Mustang that had some damn big a$$ tires on the rear that I was hoping was more show than go....well he had about a car length on me at 60mph and then all of a sudden he just left me in the dust and pulled away from me like I was hitting my brakes.....Damn NOS as he ran ET 13.046 @ 104mph.

I am going to take the car to a mechanic to bump up the timing from 15 to 17 degrees. I had it set last year by the dealer in April at 15 degrees so it is probably a little off by now again and why not try a little more advance to see what its got under the hood.

Below are some additional 1/4 ET's just as a reference to keep things all in one easy to find place.

well its a shame that you didnt run better Rob.. But thats OK.. Seems as if you simply had better traction youd be below that 14.....

I think i know a guy that might be interested in your Q, and hes close to me..

The last of the import luxo runs! We bow our heads.

Wonder what they did to get the Marauders to run? Differential? Boost?

Oh well, back to the great handling, quiet comfortable ride, and those 55-90mph highway passes of expensive German cars.

Since you [with 4.083] are turning about 5500 rpm in 3rd] as you end quarter..............careful about over advancing timing with modded ecu.

1 degree too much is like 2-3 degrees too little since the VE doesn't fall too [relatively after the VVT change] much until you exceed 6,000 rpm.

Shame you cannot find a ~~4.500 rear diff gear for another 0.1-0.2 sec improvement.

I’m sure “da Beast” is already sub 14 second capable. The tranny is just thirsty for its synthetic fluid. And the torque multiplication with Robert's Super ECU and 4.08 gearing is enough as you said to cause tire slip in and beyond the first 60 feet of the runs.

The 275/40/18 Kumho Ectsa MX has a treadwear rating of 220 which is pretty low but a tire with an even lower treadwear number tire may help in the cooler weather.

But even with 3.54 gearing, sticky 15" tires on the lightweight BBSs, and Robert's ECU, you may have still experienced some tire slip as your Q is likely the most powerful NA 90-95 with no internal mods in the country. But hopefully not so much to keep you out of the 13.XXX range. And the 3.54 would eliminate that extra shift before the end of the run.

Basically a good 60 foot and crossing the lights beford reaching redline in second gear should produce a 13.999 or better 1/4 mile for your Q.

Mustang Cobra based 32 valve NA engine, plus extensive aftermartket support, equals a great number of possiblites.
