no power in my new engine... 97 engine swaped into my 91, car sat up for about 6 months prior to swap. timming is set to 20 btdc. new fuel filter, air filter, plugs (need new wires), tested fuel pres and it reads 26psi. checked voltage to pump and everything is good there, checked ground too. removed fuel pump and seen metal shavings in the bottom of the tank in the pocket the pump sits in, sock also had metal shavings in it. a buddy of mine told me that when a fuel pump is starting to go out the berrings can grind up and leave shavings as described.... Ok, now for the question... Do i need to replace the FPR before i install a 255lph unit? i was told that they would bust the diafram on the stock FPR... is this true? thanks in advance...
