I had a friend taping around the 3/4 mark with an iPhone and I had my GoPro rolling in the car.

I was leaving the hole easy all day because I don't normally race on my radials and there's no sense gaining a few extra mph by risking a snapped axle or something (because of wheelhop)

First Run of the day - A supercharged C6. We just ran out about 30 feet and punched it

Second Run - Nissan GTR - No clue what was done but assuming at least Alpha 9 levels. He ran 179mph

The GTR's were ALL OVER THE PLACE. On Sunday morning I got to watch the AMS Omega GTR run 214 - I was sitting right at the finish line, that was pretty sweet

I wish I would have gone to that. My fiance was "worried for my safety"...so I went to Supercar Saturday instead.

I'm assuming they will host this again next year since this year seemed to be a huge success. Did you happen to see this?

haha, any story behind the 996 driver? Some random person or a buddy of yours? He jumped on you but you were giving him the bird before the start lol :ohno:

and what happened to that red gt-r? dropped some fluid and braked on the slippery surface? where are the other (maybe former?) highway kings - supras :wavey: ?

He is a buddy - he was giving me a mean-mug as we were rolling in so I did what was natural.

Before the race I told him to launch however he wanted, because I was going to run him down regardless :)

I believe the GTR just hit the brakes too hard. The person driving was not the owner and wasnt familiar with the car. There was a good amount of 170-190 supras, GTR's, and a few quick domestics. Its ironic I would say the nissan community dominated this event though.

Damn congrats on the runs, the car is running strong for sure. The red GTR is the one topspeed used recently to win one lap of America and if you look in the video it has pretty aggressive front aero which creates a good bit of downforce. It normally has a very large wing to create down force in the rear and balance the car but they removed it for the event while leaving the front on. One of the thoughts is the front lip was causing to much lift in the rear coupled with the high speed, now add the weight transfer when braking and the car destabilized. The guy who was driving that car had a black alpha 12 gtr there which he owns and which went 196mph and also he was the winner at the zdayz runway event and has taken his gtr down a few other runway events near here in atl where he lives.

IMO he hit the brakes way to aggressively which caused the massive weight transfer and for the rear end to come around. I heard he made another run with the car covered in grass and mud with NO front or rear aero and didn't throw it into the ditch afterwards

Not him but Nathan the owner of the car and Topspeed did make another pass and went 175 lol.

This brings new meaning to the phrase, "Drive it like you stole it!"
