Your ownership is not going to go smoothly. You don't fit the bill.

Yeah, I may be judging a book by its covers -- but, hey, what else are covers for?

Yes, if you want to really know what the car can do, you will have to correct the deferred maintenance and restore it as close to as new OEM specification as your budget will allow.

Otherwise, things will break, you will find the sub sytems are expensive since it is an imported luxury V8 sedan, and there will be another car somewhere for the unsuspecitng and uncritically thinking.

May I suggest you begin by reading the timing chain guide article referenced in the sticky above? If you find that to be a grounding experience, you may want to read all the previous posts by Q45tech. Then you will be able to map a strategy to discovering of what your car is capable. Happy exploring!

DUBS?BEATS?PAINT?OMG......is this what your planning?

I mean Q45 aint no V8 muscle car homie, rember that.I'd just go with 19's if i was you or at max 20's.

For the paint dont go too wild like two-tone donks.Just go simple.

Paints about 1.5k-3.5k depending on where and what color you get (paint prices are going up with gas)

Dubs maybe 900-2k not including tires.

Beats maybe cost about $800 for some good ones or something like that.

I don't know what style you going for though but i suggest you do what maxnix said.I paid 2k for my car wiht low miles and new tires and also planning on going VIP but im fixing it first like the CHAIN GUIDES (big problem and is amust check) .But good luck Kutty one1!!!

Not to the G-H-E-T-T-O because the real ghetto cant even afford these cars. You ever been there? He's going for a hustler styled car with some subs, dubs, and candy paint.Which later on he'll realize he needs to repair suspension, brakes, bolts, and also repaint the car again.

REZRRECTOR 91 i perfer you just stick with that car as a Japanese platform not a American muscle car feel me?

The typical 91 Q we see brought in for prepurchase inspection needs $5,000 to $11,000* in repairs to return to near new operating condition. This does not include any money for interior refurbishment or exterior body work or paint.

Usually the transmission and diff is on last legs and ac and sunroof barely functions. window lift mechanisms, etc.

*At $85/hr and retail parts cost. A car for sale usually is dolled up at best as it can be. washed, cleaned, duct taped up neatly. The ratios averages 45/55 parts............junkyards and ebay are your friend for some things but many need to be brand new from discount inet dealers.

I'll admit that I know absolutely nothing about the ghetto, but that statement made me laugh out loud. I hate to say it, but it sums up EXACTLY what I was thinking. I know I'm a bad man...

If your figures are correct and one didn't buy the car just to drive it into the ground for as long as it lasts as is, but instead plans to keep it for several years, then one would be better off buying a fairly low mileage second generation Q45 for say $9000 instead of a high mileage first generation for say $1500 as your total expenditure after refurbishment would be about the same and the later model would always have a higher resale value if the cars were in basically the same shape.

Don't confuse ghetto the place - with ghetto thinking. Ghetto the place is somewhere you live based on your circumstances Ghetto thinking causes you to want to dub, sub, and paint before you take care of the maintenance issues.

Not everyone in the ghetto has ghetto thinking and those outside the ghetto are not immune to ghetto thinking.

Oh yeah, and for those who need reminding, Ghetto thinking is not based on color.

Congrats to me this is my first post!
