YES I DID DO SEARCH FOR 3 DAYS STRAIGHT PLEASE HELP

ok finally saved up 1,000$ more than enough for new exaughst but I want to choose the best exaughst possible for my 1993 NA KA24DE..

Apexi N1 what size tho?Blitz Nur Spec what size tho? I hear good stuff about them.. macho sound not ricey at allMegan racing?and last but certainly not least AZhitman's place.. the BRM series....

my question is. what will give me the best look/sound/unricey-sound/performance, and what sizes.. bang for my buck?

and does anybody have any sound clips? I tried to find some on search and google but I could only find 1 sound clip of the megan exaughst.

Any exaust really wont get you anything on a stock KA. Buy for quality of construction. I've had an Apex'i and RS*R exaust, both were build pretty good.

That grand will get you a (very nice) boost designs turbo KA mani and downpipe plus $450 for a turbo of your choice. You're then a cheapo johnnyracecar FMIC, muffler shop piping job and a dsm bov away from a running turbo car. add some SR injectors for $100 and a used SAFC of some sort and you = pwnar.

Yeah, RS-R Ex Mag was one of the exhausts I was looking at. I've never heard it in person, but the look is very low-key but still cool. It's also supposed to be pretty quiet.

Ultimately, I got a 2.5" stainless from BRM, along with a new high flow cat. Ultimately, I liked the dual tip on the BRM and I *know* Greg stands behind his products. I don't doubt that RS-R has good customer service, but I know Greg's a stand-up guy and from all accounts the BRM will have a bit more of an aggressive, non-lawnmower engine sound.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to get the exhaust on before Winter. I was too busy fixing brakes, oil pressure sensor, coolant temp sensor, etc. I'm going to try to get some Hotshot Headers and an AEM intake and just do everything all at once (I/H/E) this spring.

Of course, I also have to do new motor mounts and lower timing chain components as well as make sure my oil pump is within spec.

Anyone wanna come over to my place and help fix my car?

I would reccomend BRM 2.5 with the 22" resonator...this thing sounds like a beast but not too loud at idle. It's a quality unit growls at WOT. Hope this helps.

DOOM out.

Yeah, NA mods don't make huge power on the KA, but there's a lot less chance of blowing your engine up with an exhaust than if you stick NA. If money is an issue and this is his only daily driver, he doesn't want to risk blowing that **** up.

Anyway, I don't think BRM has the 22" resonator in stainless steel. If you don't live somewhere where there's lots of snow, etc. then you can get away with not using stainless.

I wish we could have a gallery of exhaust note sound clips and the mods that resulted in said exhaust note.

are you kidding? megan is so quiet

get a megan racing for like 250, or if that is too much get somthing at a muffler shop for like 100-150. exhaust dosent really matter.

Get a Jic muffler only for $400 and get custom piping for $100 and you save $500 so you can buy other stuff.

ya with $1000 you can get a titanium exhaust. are you ever planning on turboing your car cuz if you got a exhaust like 2.5'' then turboed your car it'd be kinda a waste since its better to have a 3'' for a turbo car

The only drawback of a large piping exhaust on a nonturbo KA is noise... but if you can live with noise, expect gains like this:

http://forums.freshalloy.com/u...&vc=1

In case you are too lazy to read, I made almost 13RWHP with a 70-80mm exhaust made for a SR20DET application. On my 210k nonturbo KA.

I love my Tanabe SMR, but if I had to do it again I'd save some money for my turbo project. The Tanabe was $600.

I would go with brm, SSA, or Megan. And put the rest towards suspension/performance mods. A grand is a lot of money.

I loved the sound of that exhaust in the link. It definitely doesn't have the whiny bumble bee sound of the el-cheapo coffe-can mufflers. Very low but keeps the smooth sound of the 4cyl.

Lol, when I read the thread name I totally thought he had disassembled a 240 and was trying to build some sort of bong out of the parts...

If you're seriously set on blowing $1000 on an exhaust, you could go get a super-nice ARC Titanium unit, or maybe like a Yashio Factory system and then also a Trust midpipe or something.

Go to http://www.raretrick.com, they'll sell you a brand new URAS (Monkey Magic!) for like $375, which is a steal.
