I would like all my windows to be single touch up/down, has anyone seen a module for the Rogue that adds this functionality?

Hello cpare,

I have not seen a module that could be retrofitted. Part of the issue is the factory auto-up feature has an anti-pinch system to keep someone from being injured. This is similar to the auto reversing feature of your automatic garage door opener. There are a lot of extra components involved to make the anti-pinch system work and they cannot be easily or cheaply retrofitted to the existing window.

OK. How about just auto-down, then?

The same is true with my MINI, however the approach is to detect the line amperage load the motor is under and stop when it bumps up as the motor hits resistance.

Thats how the auto-up feature knows that it's at the top as it can't be sure of the window position at the start.

Actually Nissan refers to it as the anti-pinch system. It uses a speed sensor on the window motor. If the window suddenly slows down while closing, it immediately stops and lowers 2". It requires a special power window motor with the speed sensor, the control module, and additional wiring. This OEM system is not something that can be retrofitted, at least not easily as it's a very expensive and difficult job.

I reached out to the guys @ fes auto ([email protected]) and it sounds like they are willing to make a unit for the Rogue! Below was the reply:

Quote »Hi Chris, we're game to do a module for this. But it will take some work on both of our sides. Here's what you'd have to do:

· Find out about the wiring of your car. Since the window controls are probably not in a center stack, it's possible that there won't be an easy place to get to both window controls. This isn't a big deal but it may be easier to put two modules in (one for each side) than to run wiring from the doors to a central location. If all the switches come to a master control at the driver side door, one module can probably do it. We'd also need access to Vbatt and ground to power the circuit.

· Find out about the signals with the switch control. We'd need to know how the voltages go. For example. The Mini uses a body control module to run the motors. The switches provide a contact to ground that the body control module senses. Our circuit mimmicks this contact to ground (logical low, really) and acts like someone holding down the button for a fixed amount of time.

· Be willing to do the install into your car, documenting the install so that we can make an installation procedure for whatever we create.

· We'd charge 2x the auto-up cost, and won't really make any money on it considering the time it will take to make, but that's what customer service is all about! Who knows, if it's a hit with other Nissan owners, it might actually work out well!

So, if you're really serious about it, we'll be happy to help!

Matt & Guenter[/quote]Double the MINI unit would be about $100, still a great deal IMHO.

If your interested in being a BETA tester along with me reach out to the guys @ fes-auto and let them know. I expect the higher the demand, the faster they will respond.

Also - I could use some assistance gathering the details they need. If anyone knows where to get this info, please add the content (or links to it) on this thread...

The power windows in the Rogue are all controlled by the drivers side PW switch. All of the wiring and controls needed to control all 4 windows are located in this switch. The BCM does not actually control the windows in the Rogue... it just provides power.

The service manual provides all the details with wiring diagrams, control voltages, etc. This should give your installer/supplier all the information they need. Look for the PWC section in the service manual here:

Let us know how this works out. I am sure other Rogue members would be very happy to have something like this in their vehicles.

BTW, the '02-'09 Altima has an 'all windows' down feature that allowed you to fully open all windows by pressing and holding the unlock button on the keyless remote. That would be a really neat feature to have!
