09 Rogue - radiator failed!

Well, given the track record with our 09 Rogue, it was only a matter of time until our next issue...

Of course it had to happen on our holiday road trip! Just lucky we got to our destination before the radiator decided to piss itself through a pinhole leak all over the driveway!!! We're at 58,000 miles.

Found a place that can replace it for $350... what ELSE is gonna go wrong with this car???

Just curious if you did the Home Depot mod.

Just to avoid this exact situation. ( not saying that was your underlying cause )

I did not cover the 4 small openings at the bottom.

But I did cover the bigger bumper openings and the grill openings.

Basically it's just black rain gutter mesh (the kind used to keep leaves out). Rocks & debris would have a hard time punching a hole in the rad once installed.

BTW, I've had 4 different Nissan's over 18 years and only once have I replaced a rad and that was due to a mfg defect (leaking end tank).

Sweet - thanks for posting that. It sure looks like a rock was the culprit for our failed rad. Will be doing this mod soon!
