im going to assume and say its similar to many other vehicles, plus/minus a few deviations. being a FWD should make it a lot easier, and not involve the transfercase, etc.

the problem you might run into is the CV axles. the front right is down to get seized up in the half-shaft carrier. ask me how i know? lol
and if you're in there - you might as well replace the CV axles, hub bearings, lower control arms, sway bar links. your adding like $300 extra to the job but saving yourself from having to go back in there in a few thousand miles - because guess what.... they WILL go. again, ask me how i know lol

Hey guys - wondering if anyone has any insight on a cvt transmission replacement.

If you're wondering, I'm not asking about my car- but my neighbors car. They quoted him $4,000 for it. Personally I'm a Jeep guy (I do love the Nissan trucks though, have had a few.) I told him I thought it is something we could be able to do. ( I was a motorcycle tech until I got hurt a few years ago

The package is a 2008 Nissan rogue, Federal Emissions, 4x4 - SL premium package.

The transmission failed at 140k miles... so a little bit out of extended warranty.

Now - is the transmission removable, and replaceable while still in the vehicle? Or do I need to lift the engine and transmission out together? Thanks!
