09 Murano power liftgate alert

Does anyone know how to disable the power liftgate alert that sounds while it is opening and closing?

I'd love to know how to disable that annoying sound also.

No known way to disable it from an end user standpoint. Maybe the dealers can access the programming to disable it but the manual doesn't make any mention of it. I know because I checked a long time ago. I'm sure Nissan would rather have it left on due to safety reasons. I would agree with them if the gate was fast, strong, and lacked pinch sensors. As it is, it's slow enough that even the most elderly could avoid it, weak enough to stop with just your pinkie finger and the auto reverse anti-pinch logic is quick to react and change directions if there's even a hint it's crushing your fresh loaf of bread (that's about all it can crush).

I could live with an initial warning beep, but to have it continue all the way up seems to be on the extreme and unnecessary side of safety.
