Hello all. New to the forums and seeking help. I found my 09 Maxs brake lights on this morning ( & a dead battery) prior to going to work. Looked online and headed to local autoparts store to pick up a new brake switch. Installed it but no luck, brake lights came back on. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Ty

Sounds like a wiring short along the wiring between the switch and the lights. Often the lights are powered and the switch takes the power to ground. If you can read voltage between the wires and vehicle metal, the lights are off. By checking in several places you can often find the problem area.

Make sure to check and see if the plastic button hasn't deteriorated and fallen out of the brake pedal.Pretty common problem.
