Just curious, what's your M idling at right after you crank it cold?

When I crank mine it starts off idling at like 2000 RPM which seems kinda high and then as it warms up it slowly drops down to around 1000 - 800 RPM about a minute after it's cranked.

Just curious if everyone else idles this high (2000 RPM) when cold.

Mine does that sometimes, depends on the day. Doesnt do it if you are driving though, just parked and idle.

I have the '09 M35 . Just started it up 1st time today. It is 64 degrees out and the idle was 1700 rmp. Then it drops down of course.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Scott!
So 2000 rmp on very cold morning (it was about 37 degrees) sounds about right.

Since your M has the same engine and 7spd trans as mine, do you feel an excessive engine braking after lifting off the accelerator pedal at about 30mph and again about 20mph and a 200 - 300 RPM increase?
