Hi guys,

Well, thanks to many of you, I got myself a nice 09 g37x sedan with nav/prem/tech. Black on stone. And I gotta tell ya, I was a little skeptical it would be that much nicer from my 05 g35x, but wow..It's awesome.. I'm in love. Mad props to Infiniti for making the engine better, and the interior a lot more comfortable and eye-catchy.. The interior was my gripe on my old one, and that gripe is gone.

I found two things with the Nav system that I'm still dorking around on..1) How do I bulk load the Nav system with waypoints? On my Nuvi, I've got a ton of waypoints that I can get out of it, and get into a text file, but I dunno how to get them into the Car.. Any chance that CF slot gives me a way to bulk load things?

2) Video while moving / stuff while moving.. Seems there are some things you can only do while parked. Weak.. But it also seems like it's physically hackable, which I'm not too eager to do.. Anyone gotten their dealership to do it (Seen it on some pages, but no details on what they got out of it)?

Also an iphone datapoint from the dealer. I've got the original iphone, and it charges off the built-in ipod interface. Supposedly the 3g Iphone doesn't charge. It'll play music and everything, but it won't charge. They're saying they'll have a software release to fix it in the next few months. Some combined Apple / Infiniti thing.. Thought I'd share, it certainly caught me off guard..

thanks again!

The iPhone 3g not charging is not a software thing. It's a hardware thing and will require a 12v to 5v charge converter like the one sold by CableJive. ~$30.

Welcome to NICO!

I have seen a few threads on hacking the NAV system to play movies while driving...search the forum. (I may have a link in the G-series FAQ-link in my sig)

As far as the waypoints...doubtful. I'm gonna guess that you're going to have to program the NAV system...but I could be wrong. Lets see what the Infiniti tecs say.

It's the nav or premium package that already comes with the ipod interface. The adapter is there, and it charges my iphone, just not 3g apparently. But as you said, if you didn't have the cable to begin with, then yes, it would be a hardware thing

The iPod cable comes with the Premium pkg and sound system. I wasn't being a smartass about not having the cable: the charge converter connects to the OEM cable (to convert the 12v power to 5v power pin) and then connects to the iPhone 3g.
