And it's quite impressive....0-60 in 5.6 and 13.7 through the quarter

? 5.6 to 60? then 13.7 in the 1/4 mile?

That is a high 0-60 for that 1/4 mile OR a low 1/4 mile for that 0-60.

The one I saw driving around seemed quicker then that I guessed sub 5 to 60?

edited to add,

I wonder how many gear changes it takes to reach 60 mph? maybe 3? That could explain the 0-60 time.

I was thinking the opposite...the 0-60 times seem on par for a vehicle with that kind of weight and power....but maybe the extra gears keep the engine in a much better power band for better acceleration on the move? I mean you yourself said that the auto in your G can probably shift faster than you, so yeah....

DAMNIT my own words being used against me? wait.... someone who listens to what I say. Quick give me your social security number and sign the POA I'm faxing you

It IS heavy but usually that means slower 1/4 mile time.

My 5200 lb hemi ram ran 14.0's at 96 mph the 3400 lb G runs 14.0's at 100 mph.

Those numbers tell me it is a little slow off the line, and quickly picks up speed. It may be that it is a heavy car too. 390HP and I don't remember how much torque would probably put a G in the high 12's and 0-60 in about 4.8 I would guess.

Jeff, you're just going to have to get one and let us know. Trade in the Toyota SUV.

Haha...good luck with that POA and ssn...won't get you far! lol

But in the article they said there's a monstrous push after 5k in the powerband b/c of the VVT. Now being an auto transmission they are launching way below the optimal power band of the car....has to work a bit before it gets up there and really hauls butt....

What do you guys think?

Yes, we need to get into that category and provide some real competition. My neighbor is the Chief mechanic at Schumacher Mercedes here in Scottsdale and he brought home a new C63 the other day... It was nice out so I had the windows open on the house... I could hear him from the other side of the neighborhood about 1/4 mile away... My ears perked up like a startled horse! That thing sounded FEROCIOUS! He revved it a little for me and opened the hood. I didn't want to sit in it for fear that I'd crap on the new interior! It was an absolute BEAST!
