Another new question has anyone had issues with the differential bearings going out around 70K just past warranty. I have always loved my Nissans but this assembled in USA/greed crap has to stop . It is destroying the Hi quality of the Japanese auto. I can say this because of owned datsuns/ nissans . 81'510, 85' maxima, 88'300ZX 99'maxima. 01' maxima and this 09' frontier truck. I am hoping for a recall class action because there had to be a bad batch/lot of bearings. I do not drive extreme of dogged the truck.

:welcome: to NICO!

I don't think it's a wide-spread issue, but there is some mention of it when I googled it... two or three instances. How many times has the oil been changed in the differential?

I agree that the quality isn't where it was in the '90s, but that seems to be industry wide. If you have an automatic transmission, I would really spend some time researching the radiator/ATF cooler seal issue, and would probably bypass the stock cooler all together. The "strawberry milkshake of death" is not something you want to be dealing with!

yes the automatic is the only issue I have seen with a service bulletin, this was trashed carrier bearing which was suppose to be Japanese bearing's and the bearing given back to me by the transmission shop was Korean stamped (tells me vendor didn't follow specks/sounds like B787 issue LOL). I have kept them hoping to recoup my money spent. oil changed 70K is what prompted me to investigate after jacking and running in gear under wheels with stresses scope. It looked liked silver goop anti-seize. some might not know, I thought it was tire issue at first. whoop , whoop. some have said salt water from boat ramps etc. I say B/S because differential is about the last thing that goes out. Anything gear oil is robust.
