totally radical awesome excellent because Nissan is keeping it so quiet,,, it means they have fixed all the minor issues and really pumped up the car.

or

nothing much at all changed, nissan is keeping quiet about it because they have no money for advertising and are just not going to make it a big deal.

what do u think?

check it out - it's supposed to be enhanced a bit.

I'm mad that they're putting on bigger wheels and real tires

that was originally my only problem with the a/c was that it only came with 17's, thats crap that the 09 gets the 18's, oh well, time to go aftermarket anyways.

wow, I hadn't seen any news releases until now, thx for the info..!!

hmmm... not too sure how I feel about the changes just yet.... enhanced 'feel' of the 6 speed = good...... high-gloss finish grill instead of medium gloss... sounds like no big deal........ but the 18" wheels..... I don't know if that's a good thing actually..!

bigger wheels are just for show, they puncture easier over potholes and whatnot, and now I'm not too sure if my 16" steelie winter tires/wheels will work on the 09 a/c.

or do larger wheels actually improve handling somehow? I thought it was smaller = better control though.

thx!

Larger wheels improve handling remarkably, mostly due to the fact that your tires will then have a shorter sidewall in order to maintain spec diameter. If you go too large (ie. 20+), however, you do risk bending the rims from potholes, etc...but with 18's on our coupes it will be just fine.

From the article:Quote »The 6-speed manual-equipped Sentra SE-R Spec V features a high-output version of the QR25DE engine, with top end engine modifications that help it achieve 200 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Contributing to the Spec V’s outstanding performance is unique suspension tuning, larger diameter brakes and an optional Helical Limited Slip Differential.[/quote]........and where can we find these "top end engine modifications"?

I'm curious to see what the wheel design is going to look like - i know that the 19" on the new Maxima is really hot looking; i'm wondering if they are going to make the same 3.5 wheel an inch larger or if they are going to change it completely.

If they change it completely, I just might buy them and say that i own a 09 altima coupe

ummm ... numerous sports cars rock factory 19" wheels with tires that have the same sidewall heights that 20's wheels have... yes having thicker tires prevents rims from being bent as easily... but they just look so fugly

Here's what they should update: Enable MP3 playback in the non-Bose system. Am I the only one that is annoyed with the fact that a non-entry level car cannot play MP3's when most other automakers have it in their entry level cars? The fact that you have to have the premium package to listen to such a common medium of music is just sad

And yes, the revised tires / rims is definitely a good thing, but for the guys with 2.5's now, we need somebody to sell an aftermarket chip to remove the stupid 190km/hr speed limiter that comes with our disgusting T rated tires.

Oh come on... if you had the option of playing MP3's off a CD, or having to have a separate cable / mp3 player around in your cabin, I don't think it'd take long to pick. Tons of other cars have *both* the AUX input and MP3 capability

All I'm sayin is that these things are almost considered "standard" in most other cars, so why is this one missing out?

hey, im not complaining, because i have an SL so i have both, but heres the question....

would you rather have the AUX, or neither the AUX or the MP3 CD player (so basically what you have minus the AUX jack)?

I'd actaully rather use my IPod and the AUX jack then an MP3 CD

I wish Nissan would make the 09 Coupe AWD.

So far, in my opinion the 09 is looking better than the 08 by a pretty good margin just because of the tires/rims.

The wheel/tire diamater has not changed, nor has the bolt pattern - your winter setup will work just fine. Even though the new one will have 18" wheels, the overall diamater of the wheel and tire will still be the same as it is with the 16's and 17's (or pretty damn close).

Screw an iPod interface, give me a USB jack so we can throw in external HDDs or iPods!

The SE-R Spec V gets rated at 200HP because they advanced the timing (witch requires 93 Premium gas, 91 in Cali) and pushed the redline up to 7000RPM. I can understand why they wouldn't want to require 93 as the car is targeted at a more casual driver, but I don't see any reason why all QR25DEs shouldn't have a 7000RPM redline.

I went to a Nissan dealer today and asked him if he knew of any special discounts going on after the 500 cash back on 08s or when the 09s are released and he said he didn't know anything (big surprise ). Anywho, he said he didn't know when the 09s would be released but he told me he thinks it would be September. I told him I heard Aug. and he looked at me like I didn't know what the heck I was talking about. Isn't this a legitimate date of release or am I smoking something?

PSIs the 09 worth it? I'd like an 08 with discounts but the thought of having a "new" car that's been sitting on the lot of a dealer for however many months with who knows how many people pocking and prodding her makes the car not feel so new anymore. :S

"6-speed manual transmission refined for improved operational feel"

Say what? My Coupe's 6-speed transmission is the smoothest and easiest shifting manual transmission I've ever owned by far and this is my 5th manual shift car. I can't imagine how something that works this well already is going to be "refined" and "improved". If it ain't broke...

The lead designer of the QR25DE was really pushing Nissan for a 7000 rpm rev limit, apparently he didn't get his way, although it wasn't the original 6100 rpm rev limit Nissan was gonna go with.

what's wrong with you lol. jk

you must have gotten a late 2008 model because Nissan manuals are notorious for being finicky while shifting and downshifting in the first 3 gears lol

cool, thx 4 the info. I hope they might also offer the Premium package as a stand-alone,,, last time I talked to a dealer about an `08 3.5 SE, he said that they could only sell the Premium Package along w/ the Tech Package. I think he was full of b/s but he said he looked everywhere online and they all the Premium's had the Nav.

Also looking forward to Nissan having worked through all the creaks and squeaks that some of the `08 models had.
