I really dislike the AUX input on the front of the radio, I get that it's where people expect it to be, but it sure would be nice to have another in the arm-rest (console) next to the 12v port (so I could charge, and play without having cables everywhere). Does anyone know if the BOSE radio has the ability to plug in a remote AUX in the back of the radio? My MINI HK has this, and it allowed us to move the jack into the glovebox,so the cables are always out of the way.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The BOSE system does not have an aux-in jack at the rear.

There are a few aftermarket aux inputs adapters for the Nissan/Infiniti BOSE systems as well as Nissan's own iPod interface.

Peripheral Electronics has aux input adapter called the PXAUX that may fit the bill. It connects to the CD changer/sat radio connector on the back of the BOSE premium system and gives you an aux in connection/cable that can be routed anywhere in the vehicle:

I read about this in the FAQ, and the general opinion was the sound quality wasn't worth the cost and effort just to clean up the interior. THe FAQ was talking about the OEM parts however, and not this brand however the approach is the same.

Have you tried this, and would you suggest it?

I have not tried this device nor do I know of anyone either here on NICO or elsewhere who has one so I do not have an opinion.

Personally, when I look at at stuff like this I wonder.... is my money not better spent replacing the stock head unit with the features I want rather than patching something together? There are lot's of iPod and MP3 capable head units under $300... with a lot more features and better sound quality.
