09 base model stereo died

Hi, I have 09 Quest (238,000 mi) with the base stereo model sound system. A while ago it made loud pop and went silent. No longer has stereo displays visible. Dealer system check ($75.) showed audio control module is defective but I purchased a new (used) one and just installed it but still no life in radio or CD unit. Suggestions? Perhaps Audio Unit?

You can check all of your fuses. I recommend using a voltmeter to do that or pulling them out and looking very close. After that, I'd use the voltmeter again and test your power, memory, ground and remote wires.

Thanx for the welcome and the response. I will infact run a check on all the radio related fuses, even though the dealership supposedly did, as always simplest things first!
