wow wow, I didn't buy the turbo kit yet. it's not available . I bought the exhaust for the turbo. I asked and Kenny (prez of artisant performance) told me the exhaust would bolt to the turbo with the included piping in the kit. it's the 2.5inch one

I can't wait to have it all complete. TURRRRBOOOO!!!

2.5 inch piping for a turbo? Eh, I would call him back and tell him to send you the 3 inch exhaust. You want the least restriction possible when running forced induction, especially with a 3.5L mounted with a turbo, you will want the 3 inch

i'll take that for now, if it's too restrictive when turbo kit come, i'll sell it back. since I'm in canada it's always easy to sell back without any loss FTW!

i really think the 2.5 inch will be fine with turbo. the piping is straight and the only real bends are at the y when they split to two, but at that point you're at 5inches of air flow so...

Eh, just speaking from experience. I pulled another 8 whp on my eclipse by upgrading from 2.5 to 3 inch piping with a 2.4L 4 cylinder. So given what we know about how the less restrictive airflow of the 3.5L dipping into the 13.9's at the track, I'm positive it would benefit from less restriction. How long is the section where it changes to dual exhaust?

Its not very long at all, but I agree with adidas2go on this, plus kenny told me himself (before I mentioned I had a cvt) if I ended up with a turbo then he would upgrade me to a 3inch because I would 'need' a 3inch for the turbo.

Maybe they changed their minds..

good cause now I am curious to see why or why not it should be one or the other and if it even matters which one you get. From the get go I was always under the impression no turbo - 2.5 turbo - 3.0. even a friend of mine who has beeen a mechanic for a really long time(the guy who helped installed my artisan exhaust) asked me what I was gonna do if I got a turbo because he as skeptical about my 2.5 being able to support it or whatever.

if you emailed kenny, hopefully he'll chime in and explain what will and will not work. I'm also not sure if the 3inch is even being offered right now, but i do know that if it is the price will increase a bit.

The age old debate of what size exhaust.......It is true the idea on any turbocharged application for the most part is to reduce the amount of back pressure. This is obviously true to a point but is the general rule of thumb.

The altima coupe 3" exhaust is not really ideal for a daily driven street car. The exhaust hangs a little low due to the overall size and for the power these cars make on stock clutches and stock engines there is really no need. We run a 3" system on the white coupe and a 2.5" system on the silver coupe. At 6 psi there is no power difference. The 2.5" is a much better system for the n/a setup prior to being turbo and provides more than enough flow for the average turbo charged coupe.

We are playing with the idea of offering a 3" midpipe in the future once the turbo kit is released. Remember that half this system is dual 2.5" tube and that stays the same on the 3" system.

We have the exhaust in stock well they are finish welded to order. If you are interested in one contact one of our authorized resellers there are a few on nico.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks

if the 3" is sorta too big for the car for daily driving, just go with electronic exhaust cut-outs with the 2.5" exhaust lol i'm getting exhaust cut-outs on my N/A altima coupe. open down pipe (nothing connect after the cat.... no muffler connected) got me from a 14.4 to a 13.9 and with my 2.5" cat-back magnaflow exhaust my best time was a 14.2. so no muffler made me .3 secs quicker then a 2.5" cat-back with a magnaflow muffler (like the artisan exhaust pretty much). that's on a N/A altima coupe, Turbo altima coupe would see even more of a gain i assume. so that's always an option, the 2.5" and just get an electronic exhaust cut-out to have it all crazy when you want it. oh ya, and for those of you that don't know what an electronic exhaust cut-out is, it's this thing that goes in your piping and you wire a switch to inside your car and one minute your driving along like normal, then you hit the switch and the cut-out blocks the flow from going to the muffler and opens a side exit with no restrictions and no muffler..... makes the car CRAZY LOUD and gives it more HP
