08 Altima S CVT

My wife was leaving work, went to crank the car and nothing. When the brake is depressed and the start button pushed it goes to ON. But no crank. I can hear two separate sets of clicking noises, neither of which are the starter/ solenoid. One seems to be coming from the CVT, I figured it was the CVT Test thing.

Anyway. I have been troubleshooting this thing for a few days. Here's what I found.
Both cooling fans come on when the ignition is ON (I read that this could be due to CAN comm problem B/T IPDM E/R and ECM)
Changed/ cleaned and even paralleled another battery just to be sure it's not that...
12V on B on the starter (of course if I jump it, it turns over but no start)
0V on S on the starter
Getting correct signal from PNP switch
Getting correct signal from both brake switches
I am not getting power from the Fuel Pump Relay or the Throttle Control Motor Relay in the IPDM E/R
All of my 5V sensor power supply from ECM is low, around 1.8V so in turn all of the return signals are low
Two times during my troubleshooting the "car with a key in it" warning light on the dash came on and the steering lock stopped working. After removing the neg batt wire for a while it went away and steering lock started working again but no start.

I'm thing CAN communication problem now and am going out to test continuity on the wires.

If you have any suggestions, answers, questions, whatever just let me know...please. I'm going to put it back together and tow it to the f$%^#%g dealer tomorrow if I don't figure something out. :gotme Oh yeah, I am a +10 yr maintenance electrician so I'm good with the Fluke and prints. :bigthumb:

Sure thing. I guess I should update this. Turns out it was the ECM. This is next to the battery. It was covered by some kind of FED emmisions waranty so I didn't pay for it.

Having a similar issue with an 09 Altima.
Neither smart key remote is recognized by the vehicle.
Pressing the start button with foot on brake has no effect. Neither key is recognized.
Had AAA tow the vehicle to the dealer yesterday where it will spend the weekend.
