I have the 2008 Versa S and I'm looking at upgrading a few things. I already installed some nicer aftermarket speakers, and now I'm looking at getting a sub/amp in the back. Just wondering if anybody knows if the original head unit in the S can be wired to a sub/amp? I kind of like the look of the original and don't really want to get a new one, but I will if I have to. Also, what kind of subs have people had luck with? What size, Watts, etc? I want to install some of this in a few more weeks so Please let me know if you have any information that might be helpful!!!

An Alpine 12" Type R in a small box fits well. With a Kenwood 300 watt RMS amp powers it quite well.

My problem is that I am having trouble finding out if the stock head unit in the S (non 6-cd changer) has any pre-amp outputs on the backside that I can wire an amp into. I wouldn't hate getting a new head unit, but I'd prefer to keep the stock look. If mine can't be used with a sub, I might end up looking at some double din head units that keep the stock look. I don't want the car to scream "I have an expensive sound system, steal my parts!"

And thats pretty much the same system I'm looking at getting, 12" sub running around 300 rms. just to add some kick that the speakers just can't handle.
