I have a 08 versa sl hb with 26k on it. Today on the way home the cvt transmission quit pulling.

At a dead stop if you press the gas to the floor the rpm will not climb above 2000 and the car barely moves forward. If you put the car in neutral the engine will rev as normal. I pulled the code on the car and it showed none. 10 10 10 10.

What could cause something like this. Atleast it is under warranty.

Anyone have any ideas or similar experiences

thanks

Wow that is scary. Even if you put it in 1st or 2nd? Does reverse work? Yeah under warranty is a blessing but it still is a PITA!

Update, The car reverse gear is working normal. I tried to drive it around last night. It would move but would slowly get to 10 mph and would top out at 60 mph. i tried to run it with od on and od off, tried to start off in L. Nothing is changing it.

I am at a loss of word to have a car with this few of miles having problems.

It going to the dealer today,

sounds like the bands and clutches inside the transmission are worn or a pressure solenoid is faulty. remember, the 2007-2008 models still had the occasional issue at all mileage variations. it wasn't until 2009 that they released the 120k warranty on them. it should be covered under warranty regardless.

Well good news everyone.

The car was fixed by the dealer. It ended up being a faulty brake switch which put the cvt transmission into limp mode. They had it fixed in less then a hr and it was covered under warranty. It kinda weird with the thousands of codes the obd11 ecu has it didn;'t show any. But happy it is fixed and without spending any money.

Thanks

120k warranty? (I assume powertrain only?) Do you think I might have one of those? My warranty was like 3 yrs 36k. But, I hit 36k in year 1 lol

Yes it is only for the powertrain and all Nissan cars with CVTs have it. The issue started with the Muranos. I personally received a letter from Nissan explaining the extended warranty and they included a sticker for me to put on my warranty book.
