08 sunroof wind noise and leak

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

This is not the first time that I've thought I might have left a window or sunroof cracked open.
I checked the windows, then the sunroof. It was pouring rain so I wanted to make sure. I reached up with my hand to feel it there was and air coming from the roof. While poking around, I noticed the "drip" pan around the back of the sunroof had water in it, who knew there was such a thing? I've never noticed it on any of my other cars, but then again, never really had a reason to look/feel for it.
So, off to the dealer...Of course, they've never heard of the issue..lol..something I'm use to hearing, no matter what manufacturer. They gave me a nice G25X as a loaner. (kinda miss that low ride)
When I got the call to pick it up, I was not surprised to hear that the leak was of course, normal..lol..have to laugh. I couldn't believe it, so I went outside to see how normal it was. To my surprise, after my hose rain test, sure enough, the new G did the same thing.
It would seem Infiniti has caught on to the noise issue, as they have now installed an accordion rubber baffle along the back of the sunroof to quiet the wind noise. I'll be calling the dealer to see If I can get one for my 08.
I am left wondering...Are sunroofs not water tight, or is this just something Nissan is known for? Keep in mind, this was not a high pressure situation.

This happened to other people on the forum. I guess the amount of "pressure" needed for the sunroof to leak in EX is lower than in other cars. I too sometimes find a couple of drops up there after car washes, but never with rain so far.

I had my seal replace about a year ago and it hasn't leaked in the car wash since.
