My rear passanger back seat rattles when I hit bumps I just took the car to the dealer and they looked at other SL's and said the other Rogues make the same rattle, People please check your SL if you have cloth seats.

All you have to do is when the rear passanger seat is up take your hand and go back and fourth to hear the rattle, the drivers seat is strudy and no noise looks like I will need to put some tape on the metal part of the latch so no noise happens

Unless all of you don't have the rattle, thanks.

I occasionally have this rattle noise too, there is a lot of play in the latch mechanism which could be addressed by wrapping the strike piece with material to build it up a bit and prevent the rattle. You could probably use electrical tape or something similar, a few wraps should build it up enough and cushion against the metal on metal rattle sound (I also have an 08 SL FWD, cloth seats).

In my opinion, if this is the only problem and noise issue with your Rogue then you're doing well, especially considering it's a clear diagnosis and an accessible, easy fix.

Thanks Kerrton for the reply, I wish it was the only rattle where to start oh I know the damn center console shift plate twice at dealer still rattle, rear seat like I mentioned, some weird noise where the dash hits the windshield (don't know what this weird thing is) window down hear some noise could be heat shield or Nissan brakes/rims could be the problem.

That's all I can think of for now and it's only got 21,000 miles

I hear you, I'm in the same boat.

Actually, the noise with the window down is one that bothers me a little more than some of the others. When I hit bumps, especially at low speeds, I hear a very distinct and quite loud metallic "clanging" noise, it very well could be that dreaded flimsy exhaust heat shield. It actually sounds pretty serious to me, and other than the heat shield I don't have any guesses, it almost sounds a park brake cable rattling around, but I've looked under there many times and there's not much to see other than the heat shielf. I'm seriously considering cutting the end of it off where it is not secured and just hanging there, about 3 inches in length should do it. I know it was put there for a purpose but it really seems like a significant design flaw with minimal benefits if any, I'd be happy to see it disappear.

If you ever get any feedback from the dealer regarding this or any other item, please post it up for everyones benefit. And if I do decide to do a chop job I'll let you know what the results are.

We have leather seats and the exact same rattle.

I'm going to see if some thin tubing on the catch might work (assuming it's not too thick) this weekend...
