08+ Side Markers

I know its pretty hard to replace the bulbs on the side markers on the 08+ since they are different assemblies from the 06-07 models. Not sure why they changed them, but does anyone know how to replace the bulbs on them? I am pretty sure you have to actually open them up. Has anyone tried yet? If so any DIY or pics?

Also will the the 06-07 side markers work for 08+. I am debating about swapping them out if they work. I am really not a big fan of the orange/amber color...

Any help would be appreciate!

before I got my custom front fenders I had this (2006):



6K white smd led's with clear lens

I now have 30 smd led's in each side of the vent. My whole car is done in white leds. I'm still waiting for someone to make the side mirror cover with white led's so I can say I'm done. I may have to get them made custom.

man i wish i nissan didn't change the old assemblies to the current ones. The current ones on my car is one whole freaking assembly. I may have to heat it up and bust it open to swap out the bulbs. the older ones you can just twist off, then plug and play. Do you know if any of the 06-07 side markers will work for the 08+ ?

I haven't had a chance to get around to purchasing pre-08 side markers to see if they fit. I will eventually if you don't get to it first. 08+ side markers cannot be opened unless you bake them

you just have to open them up , that what my buddy did and what im about to do , i hate the 08 and up side markers , like you said its the whole assembly !

So i got a set of 06-07 side markers.... but then i didn't realize there is the amber plastic piece... anyone know how to remove them?

CONFIRMED! 06-07 side markers do not fit with the stock cable plugs that are on 08+ models. So what do i do? i pop off my side markers, heat gun it to melt the glue a bit and pop off the lens to replace the bulb. It uses a 192 bulb for the side markers. (BTW you dont want to heat it too much or it will start melting, just a bit to loose up the glue for the assembly. Once you have it off stick your bulb in (be aware of the bulb size) you may want to test fit you bulb and the lens in before you glue it back on, i had a 18 LED bulb i was planning on using, but when i test fitted the bulb and the lens, the LEDs touched the lens.

I was afraid it may heat up the lens and also it wont glue back on properly. (ended up using a one LED bulb high powered)
BTW you want to test the polarity of the LED first before you put the lens back on, (if not you have to do this all over again)

ONCE all that is said and done. Glue everything back sit back for the glue to sit properly and place them back on.

I can't remember the brand, i did it at my friends house, but yeah i have hyper flashing due to all the other LEDs i have everywhere, I am officially LED swapped no halogen bulbs at all now, that I know of anyway

Guys I have a set of 08+ M side marker made by clear corners.com you can see them on their website... I was going to try to modify the fender to make them fit but looks like more troubles than its worth...
