Hi

If there are any experts/experienced peeps i'd really appreciate the help. I have an issue with an 08 Sentra that after cruising at 85mph for almost an hour it will rev high (5000) then slow down to like 45. If i turn it off and start back up, it'll let me drive 50-60. Another thing is, pickup is really slow, its almost like driving a car on 2nd gear.

Heres the thing the car had a rear collision that makes it salvaged which voids the warranty. Nissan dealership says i need to replace the transmission. Question is, does anyone know if its the CVT belt? or is the transmission done? Thanks

its the transmission not cooling properly -or- the fluid level is to high inside.

my suggestion:
  • is the engine coolant radiator stock? of not = make it stock
lower the coolant level a tad.
drain the coolant and replace it with something that cools better. engine ice works wonders on my race bike.

+50 on the coolant additive. Also make sure the CVT cooler is hooked up (I've seen em bypassed :-/) Also I'd see if fabbing up a Maxima CVT cooler would be worth the time, I think it's a larger cooler.
